4. Back Atcha!
"Marines arriving in Iraq this month as part of a massive troop rotation will bring with them a high-tech weapon never before used in combat — or in peacekeeping. The device is a powerful megaphone the size of a satellite dish that can deliver recorded warnings in Arabic and, on command, emit a piercing tone so excruciating to humans, its boosters say, that it causes crowds to disperse, clears buildings and repels intruders"

(Brainshrub's note: Perfect! A way to clear protestors from the streets without leaving telegenic marks and scars! How long before this device gets used on Americans? Can you say "Republican National Convention"?)

http://brainshrub.com/

"...emit a piercing tone so excruciating to humans, its boosters say, that it causes crowds to disperse, clears buildings and repels intruders." Like AC/DC?

Who's to say an Earthquake Machine isn't available too?

Tinfoil's one of the reasons I love DU!

I think our Spookie's onto something regardless.

5. Which sounds more believable:
a. Police would use a device that would disperse crowds of peaceful protesters during the Republican Convention?

b. Dick Cheney can create an earthquake with a Dr. Doom-like device. (Bwha-ha-ha!!!)

8. You're assuming you can predict events with certainty
As opposed to probability. Granted, so does BushCo. Events have not proved their experiments successful.

As I sit here splitting my attention between DU and PBS's presentation of quantum mechanics, I see that you are still living in the Einstein world of relativity, whereas reality has gone quantum. BushCo may assume or intend or plan for the events above, but PROBABILITY says they'll likely screw up so bad they won't be able to get away with it again.

And I haven't even begun to deal with chaos theory.

BushCo is full of grand plans. They were able to succeed as long as people believed in BushCo's basic good will. That all was done in good faith and BushCo was an honest broker. There is no way to believe that anymore.

BTW, there is no way in which a September California earthquake would prevent a November election.

The Spain election tells BushCo another terror strike in America might not work in their favor. So what to do? What to do? They might have to go back to the drawing board and see if they can get an asteroid to strike Chicago.

11. How to steal the election in 4 mundane steps.
No need for earthquake machines, I'm afraid. There's a much more mundane and well-tested method. You can see it happening all around you right now.

1. Get in bed with weathy Mega-corporations and the media outlets they own, offering shady tax breaks and massive deregulation.

2. Sit back and enjoy the stilted coverage, while occasionally making the rounds on all the talk shows to decry the out-of-control "liberal media". Make sure there are plenty of polls that show your opponents' candidate is "unlikable".

3. Have your corporate buddies draw up the eligible voter rolls, design, build, and program the voting machines in complete privacy - skimming just enough votes to squeak by.

4. After the election, say something like "we need to all pull together now."

When you've already got control of the media and the companies that build the voting machines?

12. I've got a better one for you...
Watch and say nothing as your great "democratic" ally in the middle east assassinates a quadrapelgic religious figure on his way out of a mosque,

then, as you occupy and plan to colonize a country, claim you are spreading democracy. then close a small-circulation newspaper which comes out in support of the quadrapelgic who was assassinated. (btw, make sure your chief spokesperson in the nation you are occupying attended Hebrew University, just to ensure that people in the country have no doubts about where your real loyalties lie).

massacre a large portion of a city in Iraq while claiming to "liberate" the people in the country, while the facts on the ground show that this seige has united factions which were heretofore thought too long-standing as enemies to govern as a coalition.

then put out an arrest warrant for the newspaper publisher extremist just before one of the largest religious pilgrimmages to the city where he takes sanctuary...among pilgrims from neighboring Iran, btw...

give a speech in which you claim, again falsely, that you will "handover" governance, while in fact you have put together a plan which makes any approved govt a puppet of large corporations and the current illegal occupying power in the White House.

the next day or so, say that "facts on the ground" mean that a man who is already wanted as a war criminal in Israel is now allowed to take West Bank land seized via war...and that's okay, and a good thing...while giving the cesspool Gaza strip to the Palestinians because that's fair.

...and then wonder if there will be another terrorist attack on American soil after all these "peacemaking and democracy promoting" actions...

...and make sure everyone who gets your talking points, as you say, puts the idea out there to postpone elections in case of an attack, while trying to imply that anyone who votes against you gives a show of support to terrorism.

...and of course, make sure you have voting machines with no paper trail which are controlled by a few of your big money contributors.

So, stock up on your water and canned goods...maybe the earthquake film is just a run through on what can be a human rather than natural disaster in the making.

Surely we're just imagining these things, especially the part about assassinating a quadrapelgic religious figure on his way out of a mosque...that was a good one

some very big scary ones, not a single one ever made me vote for a Republican. So why would this help Bush in any way?

Edited on Sat Apr-17-04 05:42 PM by spooked
an Earthquake at the right time in November could cause disruption at polling places, or make it impossible to go out and vote. I do believe that the Republicans realize that they need California if they want to stay in the White House. But Bush winning California is about as likely as an Earthqu...wait a minute!!

19. Try This........

In 2000 they said Bush would beat Gore in California by 7 points.

FIELD POLL - may, 2000

Among California registered voters

Bush - 48%
Gore - 41%

They lied, liar, lie, lie, lie.

In the 2000 election Gore got 5,861,203 votes in California.

Bush got 4,567,429 votes in California.

And now they know what a lying right-wing far right idiot Bush is, if you believe
Bush can win California e-mail me because I have a bridge for sale.

These same people are now saying Bush can win California in 2004, they are lying.

20. Can you really imagine a 10.5?!
Remembering that the seismic scale is logarithmic, this means that a 10.5 would be roughly 3,000 - 4,000 times stronger than the 1989 "Loma Prieta" quake in the Bay Area. Yikes, I don't even want to imagine that. I'm sure we'd feel it in Texas even.

22. almost right--but I think you veer off in the last steps--not an EQ
Somewhere in either LA or the SF Bay Area (where I live) they already have a mini-nuke planted. When the time is right, 'they' will detonate it. The consequence will be DEVASTATING not only in the immediate area of the blast but in concentric rings around it.

The EMERGENCY will grab the attention of everyone with a TV on this planet. First there will be pandemonium and confusion as "the media" try to figure out WHAT HAPPENED. But, very shortly, our "strong leaders"--such as Nazinager--will be on TV taking charge of the situation, telling us that something TERRIBLE has happened, but not to worry THEY ARE IN CONTROL. Soon, images from people with video cameras, then major affiliates with live cams on helicopters, will begin feeding images 24/7 to the world of what has happened: Estimated death toll 300,000, minimum.

THE SHOCK of this will be broad cast around the world. The whole united states will be reeling in horror and rage. Clarion calls from Congress to DO SOMETHING will ring out. A COUNTER STRIKE will seem justified--and this counter strike will initiate WW IV (ww III having been the cold war).

I'm not kidding. I think this may be their plan. Yes, I am paranoid, but give me one damn reason why I shouldn't be!

24. Speaking of Earthquakes...
Check out this information if you haven't seen it...
"Earthquake" tremors were recorded at Columbia University just prior to the collapse of each of the towers.

http://www.nogw.com/articles/seismicdata.html
New Seismic Data Refutes Official WTC Explanation

Two unexplained "spikes" in the seismic record from Sept. 11 indicate huge bursts of energy shook the ground beneath the World Trade Center's twin towers immediately prior to the collapse. American Free Press has learned of pools of "molten steel" found at the base of the collapsed twin towers weeks after the collapse. Although the energy source for these incredibly hot areas has yet to be explained, New York seismometers recorded huge bursts of energy, which caused unexplained seismic "spikes" at the beginning of each collapse.

These spikes suggest that massive underground explosions may have literally knocked the towers off their foundations, causing them to collapse.

In the basements of the collapsed towers, where the 47 central support columns connected with the bedrock, hot spots of "literally molten steel" were discovered more than a month after the collapse. Such persistent and intense residual heat, 70 feet below the surface, in an oxygen starved environment, could explain how these crucial structural supports failed.

Seismographs at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, N. Y., 21 miles north of the WTC, recorded strange seismic activity on Sept. 11 that has still not been explained.

While the aircraft crashes caused minimal earth shaking, significant earthquakes with unusual spikes occurred at the beginning of each collapse.
