Just had a little talk with my Republican neighbor while cooking out
He was just going nuts about Iraq. Said Bush has got to go ASAP. I tried my best to play devils advocate with him to no avail. He wouldn't bite. I said I just hope we don't end up with all these casualties and tax dollars spent and end up with an ayatollah running Iraq. He said he don't care who we give the place to. Give it back to Saddam for all he cares were his words. He asked me if I would send my son over there. I about fell off my deck. I didn't know what to say. Then he said what I thought I would never hear a Republican say. He said 9/11 would have never happened if the rightful winner of the election Gore was president. I swear he said that. I still can barely believe what I heard him say today.

8. I've heard the same thing from many Republicans.
These are not lunatic freepers (nothing gets through to those maniacs). We're talking about old-fashioned fiscal-conservative, tough on crime, strong on defense and personal responsibility Republicans.

They voted for Chimpy for a couple of reasons: (1) They were mad at Clinton for having sex with Monica and lying about it, (2) They didn't like Gore, (3) They forgot how bad things could be, since they had it pretty good under Clinton, and (4) They didn't know much about Chimpy except that he seemed to be a popular Texas governor.

They are mad, mad, mad now! Chimpy has betrayed every plank of the old-fashioned Republican platform. He's raised spending, started two wars, trashed the economy, and is now being revealed as a lying incompetent nincompoop.

If the polling places are run fairly and the votes are tallied accurately, Kerry will win this election. I wish he would take the opportunity to show some spirit in the meantime!

16. I tried to warn people about Shrub four years ago.
I told them he gave away our rainy day fund so he could claim he lowered our taxes. I told them that we have a CHIPs program now, but only over his damn veto of it! I reminded them that he couldn't name any heads of state besides Blair and one or two others, that he was inept in foreign policy.

Even Bush's "Flip flop" attack is not working.

36% say Bush does.

Just outside of the DFW metroplex...

My wife was helping out with a display for our local Democrat club, and some LIFELONG Rebublicans walked up and said they are seriously considering making the move away from the party.

So my wife gave them a copy of 'Uncovered: the Whole Truth About the Iraq War'.

Heh. :)

Hopefully that will be the clincher.

He said that he went to a function at his daughters high school and (this is ORANGE COUNTY TOO!!!!)the parents (who's kids are seniors)were all talkin' that if things continue the way they are the draft will probably be reinstated and they were saying that it's "our kids" who'll go to the warr and....on and on... they were saying this is another Vietnam or even worse....! I had an elderly farmer (this is a guy with a "Impeach Clinton - And her husband, too!" bumper sticker on his old pick up) who had never voted Democrat ask me who was the best Dem to vote for. 35. What is the term "tin foil hat all about"
Can someone tell me. I guess living in Texas all of my life keeps me out of the loop. A lot of my Republican friends (and there are lots north of the d/fw area where I live) are really embarassed by Bush. I think they won't vote at all instead of voting for Kerry. But if they don't vote, it really helps us.

Anyway, what's up with tin foil hats?

54. Thanks, I'll sleep better tonight...
"An Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie (AFDB, aka a "tinfoil hat") is a type of headwear that can shield your brain from most electromagnetic psychotronic mind control carriers. AFDBs are inexpensive (even free if you don't mind scrounging for thrown-out aluminium foil) and can be constructed by anyone with at least the dexterity of a chimp (maybe bonobo). This cheap and unobtrusive form of mind control protection offers real security to the masses. Not only do they protect against incoming signals, but they also block most forms of brain scanning and mind reading, keeping the secrets in your head truly secret. AFDBs are safe and operate automatically. All you do is make it and wear it and you're good to go! Plus, AFDBs are stylish and comfortable."

"BEWARE OF COMMERCIAL AFDBS: Since you should trust no one, always construct your AFDB yourself to avoid the risk of subversion and mental enslavement. Sometimes, AFDBs will be sold on places like eBay. Do not purchase these pre-made AFDBs, even if the seller seems trustworthy. They may contain backdoors, pinholes, integrated psychotronic circuitry or other methods that actually promote mind control.

"It can't be stressed enough how important it is to have the shiny side pointing out. This is needed because the shiny side is most reflective to psychotronic radiation, while the dull side can actually, in certain environmental conditions, absorb it. However, as is illustrated in the instructions above, it is also wise to complement this with a layer of foil pointing shiny side in. This will keep your brain waves, which are also reflected by the shiny side, from being picked up by mind-reading equipment. There is a small number of aluminum foil researchers who believe that this may cause an alpha-wave harmonic to build up in the skull resulting in memory loss or pseudo-religious visions, but their findings have never been replicated by the aluminum foil research community at large. Even if their findings are validated, the risk involved is small compared to the potential of mind-intrusion."

three days ago at the age of 93. The last convesation he had with his son included a discussion about Shrub. He said that he was a lifelong republican and loved the party, but asked his son for his honest opinion of Chimpy. His son usually avoided such conversations, but this was the time for honesty if ever there was one, so he said "I think he's a horrible president, one of the worst." "Good" his father said "because I do, too".

56. Some Repub's are Finally Waking Up
Received many e-mail's from my spouse's cousin who is a rabid Republican because her ancestors had a hand in starting the Party. She is a lovely senior lady who acts like a Democrat but votes Republican only because she has been bred to do so. I casually warned her that although I have voted Independently in the past, the Reagan nor the Bush's have garnered this household's vote and the reason why I held this beliefs. She stopped sending me e-mails regarding the wonders of the Republican Party and her idol Georgie after my initial response....until Easter Sunday when she sent me an e-mail containing 52 comments made by comedians about John Kerry and Bill Clinton and how funny it all was. For some reason and perhaps because I was a little depressed for missing those that have gone on, and thinking of those families that have lost loved ones in Iraq, it became very personal to me and I shot back my reply to her and to the 30 some address's that she had sent to that I was amazed that those claiming to be Christians could find many of these jokes to be humorous when we have an idiot boy President sitting in the White House due to his rich father and friends patronage while all the while loved ones are dying in Iraq. It is Easter Sunday and again we should remember "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."
As I spend all Easter day worrying about the reaction of this cousin and other who I had responded, I finally told my spouse what I had done and said I was sick of being quiet in order to keep peace within the family...he agreed and gave me full support. The following Monday I received 13-responses giving me a high-five with the original cousin apologizing and she, herself having misgivings of George W. Bush. It made my day.
