Why are Americans not outraged?
and why are our Democrat legislators silent about the US' 'judicious use" of force in Fallujah where

"the mother of six-year-old Haider Abdel-Wahab, shot and killed while hanging out laundry; his father, shot in the head; Haider himself, and his brothers, crushed but dug out alive after a US missile struck their house. They include children who died of head wounds. They include an old woman with a bullet wound - still clutching a white flag when aid workers found her. They include an elderly man lying face down at the gate to his house - while inside terrified girls screamed "Baba! Baba!" They include ambulance crews fired on by US troops - and four-year-old Ali Nasser Fadil, wounded during an air strike. The New York Times reporter who found the infant in a Baghdad hospital described him lying in bed, "his eyes wide and fixed on a spot in the ceiling". His left leg had been crudely amputated. The same reporter found 10-year-old Waed Joda by the bedside of his gravely wounded father. "American snipers shot at us as we were trying to flee Falluja," said Waed.

Every one of these incidents has been documented by journalists, aid workers or medical staff. And there are plenty more. Even allowing for casualties caused by the Iraqi resistance, the dread catalogue of American-inflicted suffering and death is long and undeniable. At this point it's worth reminding ourselves that 5% of 600 is 30. But the evidence of the bodies alone gives the lie to the American account: at least 350 of the dead in Falluja have been women and children."

1. Because ...
1. They don't know what's going on, thanks to the media.

2. Many of those who do know want to pretend they don't know, because they don't want to confront the meaning of what they know.

2. It's mind-boggling isn't it?
I sent a photo of some collateral damage to my freeper cousin. It was awhile ago. I was getting sick of her Godblessamericaandourtroopsandgeorgebush drivel she kept sending to me.

Her response was to pretty much doubt it had happened but if it did it was all Saddam's fault because he was the Antichrist. I am not making this up. Of course it WAS ALL IN CAPS so I would get the point.

I figure if we keep going at the rate we're going we'll be responsible for as many Iraqi deaths as Saddam was years ago. I guess they should be glad they died liberated...

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

4. Occam's Razor
Americans are not outraged by reports of atrocities committed by American forces because they don't consider any act committed by Americans as outraging or atrocious.

They just don't give a damn. At all. Anything the USA does to anyone else (except maybe Israel, maybe maybe Britain) is in bounds.

7. I'm beyond outrage
Outrageous things are so much the norm that they lose some of their outrageousness. Sigh.

8. They're too busy for outrage....
Your're fired, ultimate makeover, american idol, survivor, people eating gross stuff and trying not to puke, ad nauseum. (Sorry I don't know the correct names of the shows).

It takes a lot of time to stay up to date on the happenings in the entertainment world. Then people have to worry about the death tax and increased gas prices caused by the environmentalists.

Besides most Americans really don't give a damn about who dies where, as long as it's not an American fighting to protect democracy and our special way of life. Don't you know that when an Iraqi dies that it is Saddam's fault? After all, it is Saddam who did not leave the country wehn given an ultimatum by Bush*.

9. I don't agree
They don't pay attention because they absolutely do not want to know...to blame it on some TV show is bullshit...The Bush people speak a somewhat hypnotic brand of denial... and if you're into denial, then Shrub's your man... (former therapist of 16 years)...

that Americans can be responsible for war crimes also. Just utter denial. It's how the neo-cons get away with so much.

16. why are our Democratic leaders silent?
Because the voted to do it. They voted to give an AWOL , usurper, who it was obvious did not respect the people of the US and their right to have their votes counted, and who, from the first day of his appointment by the Supreme Court buddies,a blank check to kill, to shock and awe thousand upon thousands of innocent civilians.

What is the matter here? Why is NO ONE taking him to task over this?

Because, duh--they all voted for it. It does not matter that we, the common prolls, knew the facts--we KNEW there were no WMD

No, they were playing a game. They were weighing their choices as far as their own political careers were con cerned

They are all corrupt and without morals or ethics.;

their brains are skewed and they are broken
