How to answer the question about Kerry's $87B funding vote |
|
This has to be answered immediately, and the way is simple: Bush's solution is not the only solution. Kerry wasn't voting against funding the troops, he was voting against a giveaway to Bush cronies and an unaccountable package. Kerry even said at the time that the troops needed to stay and needed to be provided for, and since the monarchists are playing hardball here, it should be answered in kind: it was a bad bill, designed for corporate profit.
It'll be the most dangerous question, and it is being danced around now; that can't continue. Kerry voted against a bad plan, and Bush people need to have their collective noses rubbed in the reality that THEIRS ISN'T THE ONLY PLAN. It should be thrown back at them that Bush is more concerned with looting the treasury for his friends.
It's the same thing as the '02 election: Junior said that the Dems were so beholden to special interest groups that they wouldn't pass the Homeland Security Bill. The Dems said nothing and lost, when they should have said this: Bush is more concerned with destroying unions and crushing workers than with your safety; he's just using your current fear to continue on his hereditary greedfest.

1. David Kay said that he knew last July that Iraq had no WMD's. |
|
Would the vote in the Congress have been the same if the Congress KNEW when they were voting that there were likely no WMD's. Interesting thought.

2. I said the same thing. No on the $87B |
|
It had nothing to do with funding the military, but what they were going to spend the $87B on!
It turns out they did miuse the $$ by letting Halliburton overcharge on the gas prices, and not feed out troops as the contract said.
I sent my Reps and Sen the same objections when they were going to vote. Since I'm from Ga. my guys didn't pay any attention to my objections, but I still feel the same way. You shouldn't vote for such a large amount of $$ when you don't trust those who are spending it.
Of I remember right, this is the same time that out troops didn's have the body armor they needed, the Humvees didn't have the armor plate they should have had.
Just what was this $$ spent on????

3. Clinton did a good job explaining at Unity Dinner |
|
It was a protest vote - he was upset that Bush was just going to add the 87B to the deficit and not figuring out a way to pay for it.
However, Kerry knew it was going to pass anyway and the troops would get what they needed - he voted no to protest GWB's fiscal irresponsibilty.

4. Where was that moxie re: IWR? |
|
Will you feel better when--as President--he uses billions to actually provide for the troops, in order to finish the illegal massacre in Iraq?
Kerry is status quo. With each passing day, the chances of him getting my vote grow slimmer...
