There are many posters telling us that their life-long Republican parents or grandparents are NOT voting for the GOP presidential candidate for the FIRST TIME EVER this November.

They voted for Hoover.
They voted for Goldwater.
They voted for Nixon.

But they are NOT voting for Bush.

They.are.off.the.reservation.
For.the.first.time.ever.

1. HAPPY HAPPY
My dad is one of those traditional Republicans. He's voting for Kerry. He said that John Ashcroft is the most dangerous man in America. And he thinks Bush is an ignoramous. :)

3. not only older folks
But also ...

- some gun rights/militia type people who will be sitting out due to PATRIOT Act and general government secrecy
- anti-immigration conservatives who are pissed at WH's alien amnesty suggestion
- fiscal conservatives from all over the spectrum who can actually read charts describing spending and deficit
- military families who think Iraq was an unnecessary invasion

Of course, there will unfortunately be hoodwinked long-time Democratic voters cowering under the wing of our Great Leader ...

4. As far as I'm concerned,
any American who votes for Shrub this fall is a treasonous traitor. And I have no doubt the founding fathers would agree with me!

7. My dad has a Bush calender in the kitchen and a Bush bumper sticker...
...on his car. The day he says he won't vote for Bush I will guarantee you Kerry will get 65% of the vote.

9. In addition, the X and the Y Generations have finally figured it out
The Pubs think the Young and Poor don't vote in great numbers, hence the Pubs shine them on. Social Programs for young and poor cut or eliminated.

The Young guys are starting to realize if they don't protect their interests with smart voting, its all down hill. So Kerry, along with Deans help, is approaching College Campuses with this message. Vote to protect the future, their future, their lives.

The Pubs are slowing being revealed for what they truly are, a bunch of old selfish guys and those they brainwash. And guess what, for them, its too easy! Americans are one of the easiest people to fool. We need to negate the Pubs.

10. The Robot Bartender
The Robot Bartender
A popular bar had a new robotic bartender installed. A fellow came in for a drink and the robot asked him, "What's your IQ?" The man replied, "150." So the robot proceeded to make conversation about quantum physics, string theory, atomic chemistry, and so on. The man listened intently and thought, "This is really cool."

The man decided to test the robot. He walked out the bar, turned around, and came back in for another drink. Again, the robot asked him, "What's your IQ?" The man responded, "100." So the robot started talking about football, baseball, and so on. The man thought to himself, "Wow, this is really cool."

The man went out and came back in a third time. As before, the robot asked him, "What's your IQ?" The man replied, "50." The robot then said, "So, are you Republicans really going to vote for George Bush again in spite of overwhelming evidence that he manipulated the country into a war to revenge his daddy and line his rich friends pockets and the fact that he has loss more jobs, created more deficits, pissed off more friends, and made the world more unsafe than any other US president before him?

14. I'm confused...
Bush got less than half of the popular vote in 2000, and that was before he was given four years to utterly fuck up the world. And now we are being led to believe that this year's race will be even closer?

I get the feeling that the media is trying to sell a story here. Bush's approval rating is hovering in the 40's, and that's not even people who will necessarily vote for him!

I know quite a few "real" Republicans (small government, fiscal responsibility) who think that Bush is a total disgrace to their party. Disregarding the press and the cloud of black box voting, I don't see how an intelligent person would predict that Bush will actually do better now than he did in 2000. He's turning his back on his moderate majority to pander to the radical right.

15. * is toast in Croatia
Doing a short project in Zagreb, cannot find anybody that thinks well of *. They love Americans and feel that that a combination of dis-information and fraud allowed this to happen to us. After almost 50 yrs of pseudo-communisim they can relate. The sad thing for this former paratrooper and armor officer is that I feel more free here than in New York
