PNAC Plan B: Ladies & Gentlemen I give you Rush Limbaugh...
Peace Through Victory

The only way some form of quiet will ever exist in the Middle East is if Israel is given the latitude to totally defeat its declared enemies. Only then will the terrorist attacks on Israel's civilians come to an end. Perpetual negotiations, diplomatic half measures, or land for peace deals will not bring peace to the Middle East. For those who believe this is an irresponsible notion, I use history as my guide.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of Imperial Japan's unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor, in which 2,500 Americans were killed. There are lessons to be learned from our victory in that war.

In his April 16, 1945 address before a Joint Session of Congress, President Harry Truman stated: So there can be no possible misunderstanding, both Germany and Japan can be certain, beyond any shadow of doubt, that America will continue the fight for freedom until no vestige of resistance remains. We are deeply conscious of the fact that much hard fighting is still ahead of us. Having to pay such a heavy price to make complete victory certain, America will never become a party to any plan for partial victory. To settle for merely another temporary respite would surely jeopardize the future security of the world. Our demand has been, and it remains, unconditional surrender.

On August 6, 1945, just 16-hours after the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, Truman issued a statement which said, in part: The Japanese began the war from the air at Pearl Harbor. They have been repaid many fold. … We are now prepared to obliterate more rapidly and completely every productive enterprise the Japanese have above ground in any city. We shall destroy their docks, their factories, and their communications. Let there be no mistake: we shall completely destroy Japan's power to make war.

Unfortunately, there's more...

In the midst of an uprising in Iraq, Sharon decides to pour gasoline on the fire. Is it possible that, failing to have the Iraqi people embrace a puppet US-backed gov't in Iraq, the new plan is to incite a Jihad followed by something approaching ethnic cleansing as the response?

An Israeli Who's Got Everybody Outraged
By JONATHAN D. TEPPERMAN

Published: April 17, 2004

JERUSALEM ? Benny Morris is used to making enemies. When his first groundbreaking book appeared in 1988, marshaling evidence that Israel's founders had deliberately ? and often violently ? forced Arabs to flee during the war for independence, Mr. Morris was reviled and called an anti-Zionist. For years he was unable to find work as a professor in Israel; when he finally landed a job at Ben-Gurion University, named for Israel's first prime minister, Ben-Gurion's son tried to have the radical young historian fired.

<snip>

"Ethnic cleansing has a bad name, and rightly so, but in 1948 it was justified because the 650,000 Jews who lived here were under existential threat," Mr. Morris said recently as he sat in the high-ceilinged lobby of the King David Hotel here. "It was the only way to win that war."

If Ben-Gurion bore any moral responsibility for expelling the Palestinians, Mr. Morris added, it was for not having been more thorough. Having decided on transfer, he said, Israel's leaders should have resolved to "do it properly."

14. What's especially upsetting
and horrifying is that the very words (euphemisms or code words, actually) he and so many other Israelis are using concerning the Arabs and Palestinians are the very same euphemisms and code words used by the Germans to justify their "transfer" of Jews!!! WHY can't they see that? They, of all people, should be especially aware of that.

2. Bush and Sharon may desire total war.
Edited on Sat Apr-17-04 09:53 PM by Soup Bean
PNAC finds total war desirable. This thing could very easily escalate completely into the War of Civilizations that many feared during the buildup to war, and others may actually be counting on. It's time to be very, very worried.

4. The next few days or weeks should tell the tale....
The Trillion Dollar Question: If Iraq explodes, will the conflict widen beyond Iraq?

5. I think they would LOVE for the conflict to widen.
The United States, however, is running out of soldiers. How in the world would we be able to fight Iran and Syria at the same time we're fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq? This war has got to be counted as one of the greatest blunders in history.

The middle east and Arab lands will NOT be pacified easily. The only real strategy that will "pacify" the lands is to "kill their buffalo". In other words, we would have to adopt the same tactics that we used to destroy the Native American population. I don't think anyone will stand for that again.

We are in big trouble.

Destruction. Could we be looking for an excuse to use them?

15. And I'm really starting to believe
that that's exactly what Israel wants, and I can't say how strongly I resent that. Of course, we'd pay very dearly for any such actions.

10. Do you realise that Israel can deploy......
........more troops, tanks and aircraft in the ME than the US?

They (the IDF) also posess nukes.......the availability of that sort of force would make attacks on Syria and/or Iran fairly tempting to Cheney/Perle et al.

12. If so, prepare for Armageddon.
This wrongheaded policy may wind up in the destrubtion of the world. Where do the Russians and Chinese stand? The Corporate Powers that pull the puppet strings CAN'T be happy with this. Too much war is bad for business.

This cabal that has usurped the power in the United States is wrongheaded, arrogant, misguided and near evil in intent. Osama Bin Laden and company have receieved more that they ever dreamed.

Their War of Civilizations. Nixon feared it among all....he feared that we would lose. I would rather have Nixon in the presidency....at least he was competent with foreign policy.

9. DEATH WISHES of BUSH (PNAC) + SHARON = HELL on earth
Soup Bean, I'm afraid you may be right.

Maybe Bush, with his messianic delusions of being a do-gooder for God, sees this as an historic opportunity to hasten Armageddon. (I personally think he worships a different god from me, since I think it would be the last thing that God would want.)

Not only is he helping create an eventual hell for everybody (except his cronies)here at home, he and Sharon are making life an even bigger hell in the Middle East.

(I can't help saying that he and the others who are creating this hell will be unpleasantly surprised they haven't been "raptured" out of it.) Tragically, there's no escape for the innocent victims of all this madness.

It's like a few megalomaniacal men are playing a deadly chess game of power, control, and death with the rest of the world, and nobody really wins. Not even them.

Isn't it time for the U.N. to step in? What else can be done???

8. I'm sorry, I couldn't get past the first line of your post.
Limbaugh's words are nothing but bullshit. It's getting so that I don't have any more time to listen to them.

11. I totally understand that, believe me,
but I'm afraid that millions of people still, for whatever ungodly, unknown reason, listen to the rushbot and take him very seriously. So it's important for us to be aware of what he's saying and be able to counteract it.

It will always be important to watch THEM, and to report on what they are doing. It's just that their words make me want to barf. It's kind of like homocide inspectors. Nobody wants to do it, but it's a necessary job.
