Cook County (IL) Repukes acting like . . .well, Repukes!
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 07:39 AM by wndycty
Someone get a baby-sitter, pronto

Sunday, April 18, 2004

Republicans are usually so mild mannered.

But not Wednesday, as Cook County GOP officials gathered in downtown Chicago to elect a new chairman.

One meeting grew so tense, GOP members summoned a security guard. Later in the evening, a Northwest Side alderman collapsed and was carted away by paramedics — but not before his colleagues wondered aloud if his vote would count.
-snip-

News reporters racked up a $165 bar bill while waiting for the madness to end, and when it did, outgoing GOP Chairwoman Maureen Murphy of Evergreen Park squeezed the arm of state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka so hard, Topinka yelled "ouch" quite audibly.

Topinka said she didn't think the pinch was on purpose (even though the two ladies aren't the best of friends), but it did leave a bruise.

Keep in mind this is not some rural small town group, this is CHICAGO!

1. Last Year It Was In A Phone Booth...
I love Cook County Repugnicans...especially the brave few that live in Chicago.

Look at all the colorful characters we have enjoyed...Eddie "Chipmunk" Vyrdokliak, Donald Stephens and everyone's sweetheart...Betty Loren-Maltese.

These people better be drinking heavy, it's gonna be a real tough year. They're sure not gonna get any help from the RNC.

BTW, I couldn't help notice all the large contributions to various Chicago area Repugnican Congressman that I was able to find on newsmeat.com (a great site...thank-you!!). Run some of the downtown zip codes, get a snack and be surprised. Start with 60611!

Cheers!

2. Trickle-down economics doesn't work...
but trickle-down behaviour does have an effect. Watch as the repuke party implodes over the next few years - especially if they do well in the next elections.

4. Typical
The GOP is in such disarray that, without election fraud, they would not stand a chance of being a viable party in the next (2008) election.

Of course, they WILL be elected in a landslide in all states with paperless electronic voting machines. :(

7. That thunk was me laughing my butt off.
Oh--thank you for posting THAT link! That had to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a VERY long time.

Had you seen this cartoon yet? THIS was a GOP self lampoon, if you can believe it!

I do love the smell of Illinois GOP when it gets toasted!
