War on Terror?...how about a war on Stupidity?
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 08:12 AM by mopaul
STUPID, DULL, DENSE, CRASS, DUMB mean lacking in power to absorb ideas or impressions. STUPID implies a slow-witted or dazed state of mind that may be either congenital or temporary <stupid students just keeping the seats warm> <stupid with drink>. DULL suggests a slow or sluggish mind such as results from disease, depression, or shock <monotonous work that leaves the mind dull>. DENSE implies a thickheaded imperviousness to ideas <too dense to take a hint>. CRASS suggests a grossness of mind precluding discrimination or delicacy <a crass, materialistic people>. DUMB applies to an exasperating obtuseness or lack of comprehension <too dumb to figure out what's going on>.

.....now that the word stupid has been clarified above, we must conclude that our president is certified, bona fide, and qualified stupid. and it's obvious that anyone who supports a stupid man, is also clinically, verifiably stupid.

when you hear our counterparts, the hypnotized, dyed in the wool bush lovers, calling into c-span, you must conclude that they are woefully stupid. of course, they think that we are stupid too, so, the word 'stupid' gets tossed around a lot by both sides.

the president actually said, 'i don't read newspapers', and, 'i don't do nuance', and neither do his supporters. they get their info and talking points from only right wing sources, which are abundant. so we have a small group of evil, smart people, bushco, tapping in on one of america's greatest resources, stupidity.

bushco realizes that millions and millions of us are just plain stupid. and they exploit those people, much like cattlemen exploit cattle. they are herded, fattened up, and led to the slaughterhouse, effortlessly.

i think instead of a war on terror, we need to initiate a war on stupidity. rampant stupidity is destroying our society. most folks couldn't find canada on a globe with 3 chances. most folks don't realize grandpa prescott bush supported hitler, daddy george supported bin laden and saddam, and jr. george was busted for cocaine.

what can we do about the scourge and the threat of stupidity?
i myself suffer from a certain form of stupidity, i'm not immune to it's power. i get along fine with most stupid people, and i wouldn't care if the whole world was filled with the stupid, but there are just too many people who have died, and still are, due to the disease of stupidity.

harmless stupidity i don't have a problem with. just dangerous stupidity. too many of us have been dumbed down deliberately, the smart ones among us need to fight back the wave of stupidity with education and enlightenment. the stupid CAN be brought around to the right path, it happened to me.
