Where's the News???
According to at least two sources

http://lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx

and

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/A80BC5E4-05AA-4089-9B1F-6716AA833212.htm

Saturday has been a very violent day in Iraq. Fighting near the Syrian Border has become intense.

Has the clamp been tightened in the Iraqi press room?

1. CBC just reported 8 soldiers dead

I don't understand why it's not getting the attention it deserves.

2. reuters from this am
Since March 31, at least 94 U.S. soldiers have died in action in Iraq -- more than were killed during the three weeks last year between the invasion of Iraq and the fall of Saddam.

Tension remained high in Najaf, where 2,500 U.S. troops are poised nearby with orders to kill or capture Sadr.

A spokesman for the fiery cleric said on Saturday that negotiations were at a dead end. A U.S. spokesman denied any direct talks had taken place, although he said Iraq's U.S.-led administration was keen to avoid bloodshed in Najaf.

4. Hey.. there was news.. I saw it
I saw a repeat about Lance Armstrong, another one on Christopher Reeve..

You ought to know by now, that news does not happen, until the government checks it, and faxes the approval to Cnn et al...and since it's the weekend, Rove & the buddies are sleeping in :)

Don't worry.. Very soon they will be waking up, and then you will get to know what Kobe plans to do this weekend, and maybe they will tell you about the latest in the Martha jury thing..

War, you say?? What war?? It's just an "unhelpful situation" as the Iraqis learn to love their shiny new democracy.. The girls are sharpening their pencils as we speak.. They are going to school now..dontchaknow??
