Do Republicans really have the best interest in our troops?? |
|
With chickenhawks like Cheney and Wolfowitz and with guys who went in the national guard to avoid vietnam why are we trusting these guys to tell us what is best for troops?? This is the same political party that puts on a pedestal the commentator Rush Limbaugh, who not only is a drug addict, but also is well documented for avoiding the military..
Add to the fact the way they have treated veterans like Cleeland, McCain, and Kerry and I wonder if they really support our troops.. Are the troops good as long as their serving under their causes, or do repukes feel that as soon as those troops service end and they become veterans then their service is no longer important??

Trickle down, tax cuts for the super rich and shilling for corporate crooks is not for the best interest of America yet little people vote GOP.
Troops are sold on patriotism, machismo and fighting for freedom by the GOP Chicken Hawkers. Scam the torpedo's full speed ahead while the Good ole GOP boyz cheer you on well out of harms way.

2. Make the Army Illegal!!! |
|
If they had the best interests of the troops at hand, then they would ban having troops in the first place. We don't need no stinkin' standing army. Why do we have it? So we can bully the rest of the world?
Who is threatening us? Terrorists! Why? Because we have interfered in their business.
We were warned about maintaining a standing army...look what it's gotten us!

9. Your reproof needs a little more creativity |

What, other than to "fix" problems WE caused in the first place, do we need a standing army for???
To defend us against an aggressive neighbor to the north? To defend us against an aggressive neighbor to the south? To defend us against those aggressive Carribean nations?
Why exactly do we need a standing army?
(Having said that...I admit I use a little hyperbole...we need a few to guard our embassies and maintain equipment and some militia to help out with natural disasters...but otherwise...)
Look at our European neighbors. Look at the size of the Danish army or the Dutch army. Even the German army has shrunk down in recent years. The only ones with a large army anymore are France and the UK -- both of whom still have, imho, serious colonial aspirations.
Large standing armies are the fist that allow tyranny!

3. Republicans, especially those in positions of responsibility |
|
don't give a rat's ass for the well-being of our armed service personnel.
"People are fungible," says Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. That is US policy under a Republican administration.

4. The day the Iraq war started, AFTER a 100% vote of "support the troops" |
|
in Congress, the Republicans unanimously passed a bill slashing housing and medical benefits for military personnel on the very next vote. Dems tried to vote it down but were outnumbered by the Repubs. Since then they have basically taken a buzzsaw to hack away at military benefits. Does that answer part of the question?
