is there only one story (CNN) about the death threats to Gorelick today?

Anyone have any news searching tricks?
I cannot find any other coverage except the CNN story. I wasn't even able to find it at ABC who reported it on yesterday's nightly news. Whats up?

1. Gorelick has an op-ed in the WashPost calling Ashcroft a liar.

She clarifies the whole 'wall' mislead and it's history going back to 1978 and then Reagan/Bush. And the guidelines being re-affirmed by Ashcroft's people on Aug. 6, 2001, of all days.

Guess she felt she needed to clear the air and defend herself.

that. But this is an op-ed piece, not a news story, and I was wondering why this is not a top story today.

I think it's very important that people read her piece.
I hope Dems in Congress are coming to her defense. She is under an orchestrated attack.

mentions the death threats in the headline. According to ABC nightly news, just yesterday morning she recieved a bomb threat phone call at her home and she has recieved other death threats as well.
I find it disturbing that this is not headline news.

edit, also I find it interesting that the link you provode shows there was no lack of interest in reporting the accusations against her that were started by Ashcroft in his testimony.

6. While your observations are apt , I think death threats are common.

It's probably not unusual for such people to get death threats. AFAIK, the FBI and Secret Service abhor media attention to such threats, believing such attention only encourages nutso people to make them.

I'm just concerned that we are witnessing another RW attempt to silence someone. For some reason I am reminded of the anthrax cases. I certainly would not want to encourage any more of the nut jobs out there though. :shrug:

8. It Is "Kill The Messenger"...But Not Really Kill

The game is to totally discredit her whether it's true or not. That's been done. Now it's up to some media outlet...if one exists...to step forward to champion the distortion here and get the facts right.

It'd be great to see 60 Minutes hit on this one...just put the facts with Asskroft's, Rice's and Tennet's testimony and then just let it burn in.

Gorlick's piece is masterfully written...great stuff for NPR and Frontline and Nightline, but we need to reach the Couch potatoes who go for the least common demoninator channels like Faux and MSGOP.
