I see that the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement on US hostages has been |
|
effectively blacked out by the mainstream RW media. Wonder how the families of the hostages feel?

1. How Far He's Fallen... |
|
Jesse's time has come and gone.
I'd be curious what he has to say, but he's grandstanded one too many times.

3. I don't call risking your own life to save others 'grandstanding' |
|
Name one other American who put himself on the line and successfully brought hostages home. If I'm a parent of one of those hostages he can grandstand all he wants to. Grandstanding for a noble purpose is far, far different from the 'grandstanding' we are getting from the key figures of this regime.

7. He's Done Good, But For Jesse... |
|
I give Dennis Kucinich a lot of credit...also Rod Blagojovich...for the release of the hostages in Yugoslavia. They provided the conduit for Jesse to play hero. Yes, that WAS grandstanding.
I appreciate a lot of what Jesse's done for the cause of civil rights and liberties, but he's also alienated a lot of people in the process and totally made a fool of himself in his handling of his own palimony problems.
No question, if I'm the parent of a hostage I'd kiss Dick Chenney if that meant getting my child home safe and sound, but we shouldn't have ever gotten into this situation in the first place.
I'm concerned when TV cameras and egos take the front stage on such a sensetive issue. Right now the hubris of this regime is endangering any westerner in that part of the world.

6. JJ's time has NOT come and gone |
|
as long as Jesse Jackson is still among the living, he will continue to fight.
In his own words re: his candidacy for president of the United States "THE FIRE STILL BURNS!".
Burn baby burn.
Go Jesse Go!!!

Some people like to 'grandstand' on forums without knowing the facts.

8. Jesse Jackson's time is gone? |
|
Bull! It has become the Repub's popular thing to downgrade Jackson's efforts. Even some Dems are influenced by the Republican's continuing attempts to bullyback the Rev. Jackson. He is 10,000,000 times more a patriot than those who try to discredit him for his decisive and direct actions.

10. Jesse walks the walk...others talk the talk. |

I didn't like Jesse all that much until I heard him speak to the farmers during his bid for the Presidency. He spoke the truth and many of my friends voted for him just to send a message. You would be surprised at how many rural folks like the Rev.
