US Troops are outnumbered 1:10,000
Consider this. The US has 130,000 troops in Iraq. What happens when all the Arabs unite and revolt from all directions. They number 1.3 billion. We are outnumbered 1:10,000.

1 man against an angry mass of 10,000. Do we stand a chance?

Now take this to the next level. What if Russia and China join forces to lead a Pan-Islamic revolution to root out the invaders? Do we know where each and every Russian nuclear sub is patrolling the ocean depths?

2. And like us, they have reason to be.
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 12:29 PM by keithyboy
For years, Arabs, Christians, and Jews lived side by side without contention. The allied forces changed all that when they failed to set up a Palestinian state at the same time they established a state for Israel under the pressure of the Zionists taking advantage of the worlds sympathy after the Nazi defeat. Now the very same people...US and the Brits are once again in charge of f**king things up for the rest of the world. The Brits did it once before with Iraq and are now determined to do it all over again. As Michael Moore has said---stupid white men--I am ashamed to be one of them.

3. just take the number of Iraqis and figure the ratio.
it makes it pretty clear that the majority of the people do want us there doesn't it?

Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 12:37 PM by alcuno
It never mattered how many wanted us there but rather how many didn't. The ratio of NY police to citizens is 200 to 1 and last I looked NY was not considered a war zone.

On Edit: It's not 500 to 1 but 200 to 1.

17. that's because the citizens of NYC want the cops there..
if the cops weren't serving a purpose that was valuable to the citizenry, the cops would be toast.

there are a helluva lot more guns in iraq than in NYC and if the majority was as upset as some here would like to believe, it would be a much different story.

21. Once again. You are just stuck on stupid.
It does not matter if the majority wants you in the country if they're not going to help. We have enough people cheering from the sidelines in this country and they've shown themselves to be completely wrong and inept.

In New York, we do not have people attacking the police. Period. For the most part they stay away far away from the police. Criminals commit crimes against fellow citizens and we still need 200 police officers to every 1 citizen.

April 16, 2004 | KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- The world's largest Islamic organization will hold an urgent meeting next week to discuss rising violence in Iraq and the recent U.S. policy shift on Israel's withdrawal from the Palestinian territories.

Malaysia, the chair of the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference, said Friday it expects foreign ministers and members of various OIC committees dealing with Iraq and the Palestinians to attend the extraordinary meeting on Thursday, though officials said the exact number of participants was not confirmed.

In a statement carried by the Bernama national news agency, Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar said the meeting's main purpose would be to "discuss current developments pertaining to the Palestine issue, particularly the recent Israeli plan for unilateral withdrawal from Gaza and parts of the West Bank.''

It would also "seize the opportunity to discuss the deteriorating situation in Iraq,'' Bernama reported.

Folks discusssed supplies, air support, turkey's role/non-role, etc. etc. Interesting middle of the night discussion. Guess a lot of people are starting to look at where the hell Iraq is located!!!

Moussa calls for joint Arab action against Israel

KUWAIT CITY, April 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa on Sunday described the ongoing Arab-Israeli situation as "very negative" and called for "a joint political and diplomaticaction in a bid to protect Arab interests".

Moussa emphasized that it is necessary to face "Israel's criminal policies," which he said has "reached its limits", with a serious Arab stance.

Our soldiers are surrounded - if you look at the big picture

If you look at the big picture (take out a map of the middle east), our soliders are sitting right in the middle of a tinderbox.

If/when the entire arab league says enough is enough -- all those ME countries could literally pounce on our forces --- from the north, the east and the west.

Think about it.... MILLIONS of arab soldiers (govt issued and everything... and armed with the best US weapons we could GIVE them in bribes over the years)........could literally wipe out 150,000 American troops. It would take no time at all.

It's like a custer's last stand or something.

I am so suspicious and worried about how silent the other arab nations have been. And so complicit in what we are doing. Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia are awfully cozy with Russia, and Putin has about had it with bushboy.

It just dawned on me that maybe we should start to pay a bit of attention to who/what surrounds Iraq from all sides. And you think Kuwait would ally itself with the USA and against its Arab brothers? No way. So let's add a massacre from the south as well.

**shudders***

WW4... brought on pretty much overnight.

10. Destruction by air power defeats the purpose
At this point I would call it Soldiers against Civilians.

Yes, the US has unlimited air power, MAOBs, neutron bombs, A-bombs, H-bombs, etc., but what good are they if we end up annihilating the entire population in our quest to force democracy.

Democracy for the dead?

16. The Bush administration is crazy enough to drop the big one
Under normal circumstances, the US government would think long and hard before dropping nukes. After Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I doubt there will be any public support for a repeat performance.

However, we are under Bush. He is driven by faith. You cannot reason with a person’s beliefs. Bush believes he has been instructed by God to change the world. He is on a holy mission cheered by a rabid crowd of ultra right wing nuts drooling over Armageddon and Rapture. Just visit the freeper forum – the NUKEMALL crowd. What does it matter if it takes a nuke or two to catalyze the event? The event they have been waiting faithfully for so long?

This is the real cause to be scared. We have madmen in charge.

20. Thank you Cliss
I feel honored to join the DU’ers. This is the only group that is asking the hard questions and thinking rationally to bring an end to this mess. This is the only site that is taking a probing look at the investigations and leaks that are flowing from the media worldwide and trying to analyze the problem from all different perspectives. By the diverse nature of its members, we are getting a complete picture as each point of view helps solve the puzzle in motion, one piece at a time.

I have been lurking around several forums for quite a while and decided this is the best forum to share my views and learn from others. I would never have known about LIHOP/MIHOP without the patient detective work of the DU members. Heck, I wouldn’t even have believed such a vile theory, unless I was presented with the mountain of facts presented in this forum.

I believe the world needs to know. It will change their perception. It seems like we are gaining critical mass. It is just a matter of time before the dam will break.

Ultimately good prevails over evil. It has always been that way. We dropped that eye for an eye doctrine since Christ spoke those famous words – love thy neighbor. Somehow we keep forgetting that central theme to our way of life.

Truth has a way of revealing itself. No one can stop it.

Ultimately truth prevails.

19. And something else to think about, where did all Iraq's soldiers go ??
.
.
.

There's alot more that a few thousand "militia" and a few "gang of thugs" hangin' around over there.

Figures have indicated that less than 10,000 Iraqi soldiers, militia, "guard" whatever you want to call them have been killed - so where's the rest?

The chart below suggests that the US wiped out half a million in Gulf War 1, leaving close to 400,000.

So, besides Saddam's forces hanging around, with around 10,000 civilians killed, and the hatred and desire for revenge THAT's created,

I'd guess there's MORE than a million ready to die trying to get the USA out.

That's just Iraqi's.

And if Iran gets involved with THEIR half a million,

Well,

don't want to go there

(sigh)

I had a bad, bad feeling when the usa so arrogantly 'dismissed' all the iraqi soldiers. They were LINED up, ready to enlist as part of the coalition... and we just snubbed our noses at them....and said, sorry, your help won't be necessary.

And they all filtered back into their communities... unemployed, after having had a rather nice employment streak under saddam. No doubt pissed as hell.

Exactly... where are they? Me thinks we are fighting just their front line right about now.....

27. Just for information, it's about 300 million Arabs
not 1.3 billion (289 million in 2001: http://www.gulf-news.com/Articles/news.asp?ArticleID=60408 ). Don't confuse Arabs and Muslims - it's insulting to both groups.

Your fantasies of all Arabs suddenly attacking the US troops in Iraq are pretty irrelevant to the rest of us. You might as well say "what if all Americans decided to go to Iraq and start killing Iraqis?" It's more likely to happen - and would be easier to do (most Americans could afford to pay the airfare, and have more guns between them).
