The Nader Effect On The 2000 Election Question |
|
I heard someone on C-Span say that during the 2000 election there were 13 states in which the difference in vote count between Vice President Gore and Bu$h was less than the total vote count for Nader. I believe it was Charles Wrangle that said it but I'm not at all sure. Without looking it up can anyone confirm if that is true?

3. Nader exceeded the difference in 8 states |
|
The total vote for Nader was greater than Bush's winning margin in 2 states NH and FL. Nader also exceeeded Gore's margin in 6 states, NM, WI, IA, OR, MN, and ME.
CNN exit polls show that only about 47 percent of the Nader voters would have voted for Gore in a two way race, while 21 percent would have voted for Bush and 30 percent would have abstained from voting in the Presidential contest altogether. So Gore might have gotten a net 26% of the Nader vote if Nader had not run.

FL Bush "won" by 537; Nader 97000 NH Bush won by 7,000; Nader 22,000
IA Gore won by 4,000; Nader 29,000 MN Gore won by 59,000; Nader 127,000 NM Gore won by 500; Nader 21,000 OR Gore won by 7,000; Nader 77,000 WI Gore won by 5,000; Nader 94,000 ME Gore won by 33,000; Nader 37,000
So Nader is a real threat.

stole the election for Stump in Florida and I have no reason to doubt him. No. 2 Harris and jeb disenfranchised 90,000 people. No. 3 the pugs intimidated the citizens doing the recount. No. 4 Jewish voters in Miami, who thought they were voting for Gore, actually voted for Buchanan. Even with all that and the SCOTUS Bush only won Florida by 500 points. There is so much else too like the military vote shenanigans. These people robbed us of a great environmentalist, who is actually quite intelligent and well-spoken and well regarded throughout the world. Now we find that they misspent money allocated by Congress for Afghanistan. That is an impeachable offense. It is time for the electoral college to go.
