The Incredible irony of Jamie Gorelick
They are calling for her resignation. These monsters

....who brought us September 11

....who may actually have engineered it

....who have tried everything to prevent its investigation

....who HAVE NOT FIRED ANY ONE OF THE MANY PEOPLE WHO FAILED IN THEIR DUTIES

....now are calling on one of the commissioners to resign because she upheld a law that Ashcroft upheld as well

Can this be more ironic, or is the word bizarre?

1. it's awin for them whether she resigns or not
she has no reason to resign.

But just by raising a stink, the bushgang has tarnished the credibility of the commission, which is likely to be a bit harsher to the bushgang than they thought.

If the Commission report is critical of the bushgang, they can now claim it is biased due to conflict of interest and partisanship.

5. They see the handwriting on the wall
You are totally correct.......at least now, they are trying to connect dots.....funny, when the dots lead to them they can do it.

8. That's why Bob Kerrey was so servile to Asscrack and Ben Veniste
was subdues as well. Gorelick was the only one staying on the subject.
Bloomberg describes a similar procedure in obtaining Clinton's impeachment in the House. Reluctant reps were taken individually to the "evidence room" and held there until broken by blackmail and threats.

3. These people also think it's perfectly fine...
...for Scalia to duck hunt with Cheney pending a Supreme Court hearing involving Cheney.

6. I don't think it will matter.
As all of the other Commissioners have stated, several of them have excluded themselves from certain things because of a past association in a political arena. All of the Commissioners have said THEY WILL NOT LET HER RESIGN!

As to it raising a question about the credibility of the Commission........the blinded Bush supporters will say it was biased to the Dems under ANY circumstances, and the Bush haters will say it was biased to the Pubs. To the sane few in between, this little skirmish won't make any difference.

7. here's a letter to Bill Frist

Dear Majority Leader Frist:

I was so delighted to hear of your position calling for the resignation of 9/11 commissioner Gorelick. It is your standard of principled leadership that is no necessary for the continued strength and survival of democracy.

Democratic ideals can only survive in a transparent and conflict free environment. Ms. Gorelick's obvious trespass into an area that a prudent man might charaterize as "marginally unethical".

Thank you, Sir.

By the way, I would appreciate your comments on the Scalia/Cheney duck hunting trip.

Thank You

9. If they say she's too partisan, they should look at this...
Campaign contributions of select 9/11 commissioners...

Slade Gorton
Tom Kean
John F. Lehman
James "Big Jim" Thompson
