How many times have you seen the Bush ads ?....the Kerry ads ??

Someone asked the question about why they think the polls are so close? I think Bush is spending a lot of money to maintain some shred of credibility. Of course, he thinks money will buy him the election. We shall see.

But in Colorado, I guess I have seen the Bush ads perhaps 25 or 30 times and maybe I saw a Kerry ad about one time...Does this make a difference

I have seen the Bush ads many times and the Kerry ads many times. I have seem a combined total of moveon.org, afl-cio, media fund, etc. ads that exceeded either Bush or Kerry ads.

If Colorado is contestable, maybe more funding might put more anti-Bush ads into place.

THAT is a campaign with shitloads of money. I don't need to be watching Kerry ads in Austin, Texas, but the fact that Team Bush can air ads in Texas revels just how much money they have.

There is NO reason a "popular wartime president" should have to run ads in his "home state". He should have it so locked up that it would seem like a waste of money to air ads there.
I know he has the big money advantage, but if he was doing well, he should be able to use it in states he has to swing. Texas should already be a lock ( it almost certainly is). If he's blitzing ads there, he is in BIG trouble.

I haven't seen any ads for either. I try not to turn on the tv at all, and the radio here in socal hasn't been hit yet as far as I can tell.

but the ads are annoying and Kerry has said he is releasing a postive ad campaign about his "vision" later this month.

The interesting thing to remember is * has spent 40+mill and hasn't gained a point in the polls (he has actually lost quite a few)

I think the made reason the polls are so close is that a lot of Americans do not know who Kerry is. Bush has a much higher name recognition, but is still, at best, only a point or two ahead (and in a lot of cases, a few points behind). Once Kerry is better known, his numbers will get better.

His number will plummet again after the VP pick and it will be free exposure for Kerry. The 9-11 commission and that beautiful Press conference made him have to dig in his pocket for ad money. In the meantime Kerry is sailing without having to advertise and Move On is picking up the slack. Great strategy. He will hit hard closer to the election and right after the convention and holding the money till the Repug convention. Bush/Cheney has come out too soon and soon they will have to depend totally on Diebold or some other measley dirty thing.
It looks like this time, the Dem campaign knows what they are doing !

theres some blankity blanking pro bush ad. Rarely have I seen a pro Kerry ad, although there have been a few. Kinda makes me not want to watch the tube, except for my Cub games.

There are a good deal of various anti-Bush ads but other than a 2 week period a few weeks back, I haven't seen many Kerry ads. Bush has pulled back his ads - the last one I remember was during the Nightline recap of his horrible press conference (perfect timing - HA!).

The Bush ad has been on cable (CNN) twice that I've seen; Kerry's ad comes on an NBC affiliate out of Little Rock AR during Judge Judy, of all things! I've also seen ads by MoveOn and a labor group-in fact, I've seen these ads as much as the Bush ad and Kerry ad put together! Don't watch that much TV, but I'd say the anti-Bush ads are more numerous than pro-Bush, if you count the ones by advocacy groups.

10. In Pa there are a fair number of Kerry ads if you include MoveOn

Counting Moveon.org I'd say that Bush has more ads then Kerry but not more than 25%. At least, that's my impression.

So it's not like we are bombarded with Shrub ads. Apparently Shrub's burn rate ($) is huge right now with little to show for it in the polls.

12. The more Bush runs ads, the worse it will get for him.

His lies are becoming legion. People are seeing right through him.
Check his poll numbers versus Kerry. He has fallen every month since Jan. from 51% to 44% - that's 2% per month. Kerry leads by 3% in a 12 poll average. So what the hell is all that money doing for Bush? Now Bush is CUTTING BACK as he is rapidly depleting his funds.

And Kerry hasn't even started yet. He's raising MORE than Bush. And holding back his fire.

Lots of * ads on cable, although none on local channels. A bunch of MoveOn ads, very few Kerry ads. THe MoveOn and Kerry ads don't seem to be local either, but that's because I live in a safe state.

Have seen several MoveOn ads, but haven't seen one Kerry ad. Of course, have seen Bush ads. His ads are very sorry, and I remember thinking if this is the best the repugs can do then Kerry may have a chance. Bush ads could only sway the unibrow, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing, Y chromosome mutant electorate.

CNN, etc.

However, there are only 17 states that get local ads. Maine, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin, Florida, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nevada, West Virginia, Arizona, Arkansas, Washington and Ohio. Rove is also running ads in Delaware.

19. I think I've only seen Bush, MoveOn, and Log Cabin GOP ads.

One of the Bush attack ads aired during my dinner on Friday, and I almost became ill.

MoveOn is running the "He knew" (he being Bush) ad on billboards in the subway.

I've seen the Log Cabin Republicans' ad (with the Cheney footage!) on TV.

A lot of the ads seem to run on CNN and the like. I can't recall what the state of play is on other channels.

I suspect that as the election draws near we will see more Bush ads - not so much to "secure" indiana's vote for bush (that is a given) - but to push the enthusiasm for bush's "My Man Mitch" for governor.

On the other hand - the senate seat is such a given for Bayh - that no one even knows the names of the republicans running in the primary to challenge Sen. Bayh. The pubs don't want the Bayh factor to counterbalance the Bush factor - when it comes to voting for governor.
