Who Could Have Predicted The Current Crisis In Iraq?
Me for one...probably you too, and The Onion of course!

This spoof on the arguments/outcomes of the Iraq invasion was written min March 2003, just goes to show you how predictable this whole mess was, unless of course you are a freaking moron like GWB!

2. To be quite frank, the administration predicted difficulty.
Bush said it would take years and that there would be casualties.

9. Difficulties.

Yeah, technically, he probably did say this at one point or another. However, the administration clearly was giving the impression that any difficulties might be along those of severe repercussions in the rose petal market caused by the never before seen demand in the Middle East caused by our liberation of Iraq (and they probably believed it too)

14. I Had This Onion Argument With EVERY GOP Person I Know
The same one! They ALL said it was a "no brainer," that we would be greeted as liberators, we would be out in weeks and the oil would pay for it.

I think all the GOP pundits SCREAMED that impression on purpose -- and the WH once in a while put in a "we're in it for the long haul" statement that they could refer back to later....MALDITOS!

16. I remember him saying that about the "war on terror"
but not specifically about Iraq. Iraq was supposed to be a "splendid little war" that was only a tiny part, we promise, of the whole war on terror.

The reality is, of course, that you can't have wage war against a concept.

the entire operation prior to the invasion? Does that mean Bush is stupid, delusional, a liar, a criminal or just an ordinary RW doofus?

Why is it that RWer's are always revising history to suit their evil purposes? Can't they deal with the truth?

But it's not really about the WMDs, it's about the lying.

19. What about prominent NeoCons? Perle and Aldeman?
The shifty Perle, the Mother of all Neocons, also predicted, like former Defense Department official, Ken Adelman, that a U.S. invasion of Iraq would be a “cakewalk!” It will be “easy,” he boasted. We would also be “exporting democracy” to the Iraqi people, who will “welcome us” with open arms “as liberators,” he claimed over and over again in similar words. Cakewalk! Easy! Exporting Democracy! Liberators! Sure!

3. I guess I did.
I guess I predicted it. Now we can't really just leave (and let's be clear, just leaving would be a horrible mistake) and we don't seem to be making things work by staying. In short, we're fucked!

I guess the only thing left to do is to deny reality some more just like our Revered Leaders.

11. Anyone with a remotely adequate education.
The people, whose country we have invaded and occupied, have outlasted every previous invader.
A fucking World History course might help this useless administration more than their daily trips to the gym.

21. Liberals
From the very beginning liberal said that if we were to go into Iraq we would only created more terrorism. Liberals continuously told Republicans and the American people that we would be able to defeat Saddam's troops, but we would not be able to win the peace. What is happening now in Iraq is the exactly what liberals said would happen. On the other hand Republicans were saying this war would be a cake walk and that liberals were just crazy.
