I blame Congress and the media.....
The wimps Dems in Congress joined with the lock-step Stepford GOP Senators to give Bush the power he needed to wage his God-driven Crusade. The media immeidately supported every move he and Cheney made - without a single question being raised.

We we all taken for a ride. Thousands of Iraqis have been sacrificed for this insanity, and our kids in uniform will continue to be the sacrificial lambs on the Bush/Cheney/PNAC altar.

A pittance of Americans took to the streets to protest. In other countries they came out by the millions. In this country, we were lucky to get protests to number in the tens of thousands. Everything we said as protesters has come true. The media ignored us then, and continues to shill for Bush. Think of all the revelations about the origins of this war, and still there is no outcry.

Afghanistan is in turmoil....and Iraq is imploding. And the country is evenly split on supporting it. What the hell is wrong with Americans? I can't undestand it... I really can't.

2. They're too trusting.
They expect the president to tell them the truth, so when someone like Bush comes to power and is s good liar, it takes a long time for them to realize they've been duped.

3. Blame the media first. Luckily, CBS went off the BushCo reservation
a while back. So there is still hope.

Its Prime Time. Its 60 Minutes. Another blockbuster.

And the Chimp's ratings will take another dive.

4. I BLAME BUSH
And it's high time people on this board did too. As long as we keep pointing the finger at Congress, or anywhere EXCEPT BUSH, we give the American people an excuse to keep supporting this nutjob. Those Americans you can't understand just can't believe an American President could be totally off his rocker. I can't blame Congress for not fully understanding it a year ago, hell I didn't fully understand the horror of these people. It's BUSH and the VULCANS. If we don't focus all of our energy on them and them alone, they'll slide right out of this like everything else.

6. John Deen
said something to the effect that unless the NEWS MEDIA, reports and goes after a subject,(story, scandle) nothing much comes of it. And he doesnt understand why they have given this idiot(my word) a complete pass.
Somehow we need to get the media work for the people again!

9. I blame the constitution
The constitution is being subverted by 2 things that the
founders did not include, finance/corporations and electronic media.

Were the framers to include in the constitution an article describing
artificial persons and their limited rights, along with a central
banking system, likely we would not be in this mess, as there
would be tight controls on money manipulating elections and bribing
officials.

Were the framers to preconceive of electronic media, surely they
would have put down intensive regulations to keep said media from
corrupting and subverting their democratic republic.

As it stands you're dead on, but to end this problem either
requires a nuclear annihilation of all of the government today, or
a serious return to the principals underlying the constitution.
