Anyone remember the comments by Poppy and Barbara ?
Of how surprised they were that George was getting the nomination of the Republican Party. They never thought (probably in their maddest dreams) that George would be the one in the White House. They thought it would be Jeb. This was in an interview way back in 2000. Anyone remember more details?

But, as I recall, they almost thought it unbelievable that their son, Dubya, was going to be in the White House. They never expected it from the son that had all the drug and alcohol problems, always failed in every business he attempted, and once - in a drunken stupor- had challenged Poppy mano a mano to a fight.

I remember the look of disbelief on their faces at that time. Now we are starting to understand why.....

2. I heard that Poppy said something like:
It's like when your straight C student all of a sudden comes home with straigh A's. You almost don't believe it.

haha. Bush probably "altered" a few report cards in his day . . .

5. They enabled him to take the White House
They let him lie to us about his drunk driving conviction--even though the arresting officer at the time had actually spoken with them about it.

What kind of people would cover up something like that? The knew that revealing it early on would not have been a barrier to his nomination or election (had he actually won). Yet they chose to commit their lie of omission.

Actually I think Geoge W is a lot like his parents-they are simply smoother operators.

Remeber Nixon's comment about Barbara Bush? He liked her because she knew how to hate.
