Gay Weddings Worth $16.8 Billion
(New York City) George W. Bush and conservative religious groups may be pushing for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage but a new study shows that gay weddings are good for business.

Forbes Magazine says legalized same-sex marriage would be "a windfall for the wedding industry." The business journal has estimated that if the laws were changed, gay couples currently living together would collectively spend $16.8 billion to get hitched.

"Of course, they wouldn't all get married right away, so it might be several years before the industry reaped the entire windfall," Forbes reports. "But it seems reasonable to presume that if same-sex marriage were to be legalized, a large percentage of gay couples immediately would begin making plans to march down the aisle together."

The entire US wedding industry is worth about $70 billion-per-year, accounting for caterers, jewelers, travel agents and a host of other businesses.

2. I'm going to be the best man in my two best friends wedding.
I'm also the unofficial wedding planner. They are a lesbian couple, and unfortunately, their families are not the most tolerant. My family is taking up the slack, or is going too, the budget is going to be tight, but I have time at least, it was going to be this summer, but they think next summer would be best. Not financially stable yet, I haven't even written a budget for it yet (going to be expensive, but worth it :)). I want to make it special for them, considering the hardships both have been through due to family circumstances and tragedies.

3. You can put on a fabulous wedding
& still stay well within budget! Over the next couple of weeks I will be putting up a wedding planner for the financially minded.

P.S. good luck with the wedding!

4. I'm just glad to have some time at least.
That wedding planner would help a lot, I will work on a budget soon at least, but its difficult, not the fact that they are both female, but that they are 3 and a half hours away right now. Hard to correspond with them when you have to do it over long distances.
