Sick Marine humor (with photo)
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 05:29 AM by republicansarewhores
If this is real, it's this kind of shit that makes me question the humanity of some of our soldiers and it makes it difficult supporting them when you wonder how many have this insane bloodlust and lack of good sense:

I found it at http://www.ehowa.com, a humor site run by a military freak named Ernie. He says it's a real photo, as documented by this Yahoo story (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&e=37&u=/ap/20040415/ap_on_re_us/marines_photograph_2)

"Boudreaux is with a New Orleans-based unit that was deployed in Iraq (news - web sites) from May to September. No phone number for Boudreaux could be obtained.

The photograph in the complaint shows two Iraqi boys and a grinning soldier, all gesturing with a thumbs-up sign. The soldier and one of the boys hold a cardboard sign in English that said: "Lcpl Boudreaux killed my dad th(en) he knocked up my sister!"

The sign's English message was apparently not understood by the children."

Ernie's editorial:

"Well, if any of you remember back last month when I posted this picture to EHOWA, I really got a kick out of it. Clearly the Marine in the photo has a sense of humor like my own. Unfortunately his jest was not well received by all, especially some assheads over at the Washington DC based Council on American-Islamic Relations. Some feel this photo is disrespectful to not only the Iraqi shildren in the photo, but to Arabs and Islam as a whole. Because you know, strapping fifteen pounds of dynamite to your chest and killing teenagers doesn't reflect poorly upon the Arab and Muslim communities at all. Or you know, filling a car with five hundred pounds of C4 explosives and destroying an entire fucking building of people who's sole purpose for being there is to get your electricity turned back on, that's perfectly fucking acceptable. No, no, surely focusing on one harmless prank photo that was taken to bring a little humor to an area filled with death and destruction (and suicide bombings) is much more of a slap in the face to Allah then killing innocent people in his name."

Ernie's a big supporter of the marines, if I read his site right he used to be one. Very gung ho on the war, I don't know why he hasn't gone and re-enlisted though. He's the kind of guy I wouldn't feel bad about hearing get fragged.

1. There's a lot of sick humor out there....
and you don't even have to be a Marine to enjoy it or partake in it.

For example, check out this link:

http://www.tshirthell.com/worsethanhell.shtml

Somehow, I don't think the message from the first T-shirt is really to bring home just the troops that fuck camels. Of course, I may be wrong. Similarly, I don't think this tshirt really means what it says, ( http://www.tshirthell.com/shirts/tshirt.php?sku=a189 ) and that everybody who wears such a t-shirt has had sex with a three year old.

Like I said, you don't have to be a marine to pull Stupid Human Tricks.

2. The true original said something about being freed by the soldier
And how thankful they were for it. That's a doctored photo and there are literally dozens of variants of it too.

3. This may be an altered photo.
I've seen two versions, the one you have above, and the other one, which may the original, says that the American guy helped out the Iraqi kid's relatives. The story mentions a third one I haven't seen.

Does anyone have a link to the other versions?

6. there are about two dozen...

...versions out there. Not all of them are as finely crafted as this one. Most also make gross changes in the message where as this one only makes changes in a few words.

10. Snoopes has it listed as indeterminate still.
http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/boudreaux.asp

It does have both pics though.

I'll keep looking to see if I can find the other links before I head out to mow the lawn.

4. The trouble with that sort of thuggish "humor"
is that such people can rarely if ever handle humor aimed at THEIR belief system. They sometimes pop as blood vessel, and may start thinking in terms of The Second Amendment. Try sending the below to them and see what I mean:

France Invades U.S.

Jerry Ghinelli

April 11 2004 "ICH" -- After months of build up, the French government, led by Jacques Chirac, launched a preemptive attack on the United States of America.
.
Declaring the US "a rogue nation in violation of international law and in defiance of UN resolution 1441," France launched a major ground offensive to overturn what they called "the illegitimate regime of George W. Bush." Citing the 2000 election as proof of an unlawful government, the French claimed they are invading the US to bring democracy to the American people. Termed Operation American Freedom, Jacques Chirac declared on French National TV: "the failure of the US to disarm and the threats against France by the unelected president has created the need to invade America in order to protect us against the inevitable aggression by the US along with Bush's stockpiling of weapons of mass destruction. The US, he declared, was part of an axis of evil along with the United Kingdom and Israel.

After a relentless bombing campaign termed "Le Shock e Le Awe," French along with a German coalition forces captured Washington DC and surrounding areas. German troops controlled territory from North Carolina to Florida.

Chirac appointed Dominique de Villepin as interim president and established a governing council of Americans. The complete transition to the American leadership is scheduled to occur on June 30 2004. Made up of African Americans, Native Americans, Mexican Americans, and a few white "Conservatives," this council will govern the newly liberated US beginning on July 1, 2004.

Meanwhile, former President George W. Bush has been arrested after a tip led to his capture in a "spider hole" just outside of Crawford, Texas. Bush was met by French soldiers with the greeting: "Jacques Chirac sends his regards." The American informant received 25 million Euros for the information and was given French citizenship and a change of identity. The former undisclosed American citizen who revealed "W's" whereabouts was hailed as a hero by the French media. George W. Bush was in good health and seen on TV with a beard, long hair and his trademark cowboy hat. His daughters vanished and his wife's whereabouts are unknown. President Bush has vowed his innocence and declared the French invasion illegal.

5. This has already been debunked.
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 06:46 AM by DarkPhenyx
About two weeks ago in fact.

The original is actually a sign praising the Marine.

Let's do try and not immediately assume overt stupidity and the absolute worst of out soldiers, ok?

8. A fellow DU'er hosted the pic and discussion.
Unfortunately I didn't keep it. That's the bad thing about doing half your political work while at work and then deciding this week is your vacation week.

14. Snopes Calls it "Undetermined"
And at the end of the Snopes article, it talks about a military investigation and there is a comment from this particular fellow's CO calling it "sophomoric humor... that he thought would be cute... and it isn't" (paraphrase).
