Worried about the eerie silence? "The Note" is worth reading
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/TheNote/TheNote.html

The Howie Kurtz piece mentioned is also essential:

It's up to us to make the Woodward revelations as big as they must be for justice. Get in touch with your media outlets and congress and demand action.

1. Here's one I don't get
6. Now the DNC has conceded that it hasn't figured out how to get contemporary footage of President Bush from public events like news conferences through channels it can use in spots, and the Kerry campaign has conceded that it wasn't able to get the vintage '70s "Meet the Press" footage itself, will somebody in the party take control and end the madness?

what?

2. new FEC regs require that "The President" not be shown, mentioned by name
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 12:07 PM by librechik
or referred to personally in new ads (without permission) Therefore the DNC is in a pickle about images in ads--how can you criticize an entity you can't name or show? Sweet advantage for the incumbent, no? I'm sure it will be repealed as soon as a Dem becomes Prez.

5. Huh???
So the RNC and * can refer to Kerry by name all they want, but Kerry cannot refer to * by name?? I can't believe that -- I'll do some checking but would appreciate a link that verifies your claim.

6. It's in the BCRA and applies to "candidates"
and only for the 30 days before the election--

(the SCOTUS)..." also upheld prohibitions on corporations and unions airing radio and TV ads that mention or depict a candidate within 30 days of a primary and 60 days before a general election. "

I thought there was some special stink about not mentioning the president, but I can't find a cite for that right now.

I'm curious now, so I'll keep looking.

4. Woodward probably got up off his ass
When he realized that there was monedy to make in negative accounts of BushCo foreing policy. I wonder if he did any new research instead of looking up information he compiled for "Bush At War".
