The right wing freaks again spreading lies

I can't wait to get home and send this lying douchbag an email.

https://www.copleynews.com/1cns/editorialcartoons/st/default.htm#EMAIL

One by one they come forward with no regard for the truth or the FACTS.

This just ruined my day.

:grr:

25. my response
(thanks for providing the link)

"Regarding your editorial cartoon about Air America Radio bouncing a check and resulting in their being pulled off the air, you need to do some fact checking before drawing the mighty pen from your scabbard. Air America did not bounce a check, they stopped payment on it because Mr. Liu was double billing air time. So as far as how 'the left does business' , it would seem that the 'right' should set their own house in order before making comment."

it was repeated last week by Boortz, Hannity and Rush.

Even after the truth came out, they still persist.

13. In the morning, during my drive to work
I alternate between listening to Tom Joyner, Imus and Boortz.

During my drive home, I alternate between the Schnitt Show, Hannity and the local Black station.

I hear about Rush from reading threads here at DU.

26. Speaking of Tom Joyner.....
I set my radio to 102 in Houston to wake me up and most of the time when it goes off, that group with Tom are either laughing and such or talking about what's happening in the world today. This morning when it went off, I didn't hit the snooze button right away because they were discussing some serious stuff, at least I thought they were. Something about a woman that sold out a guy so that she could get ahead and I thought, wow, who are they talking about? Then they mention Donald Trump. I thought, wtf? I can't believe I delayed myself in hitting the snooze button and they are talking about this stupid crap on tv. Yikes!

This is old news. I've never understood the need of people to post crap like this and keep it in the mix longer than it would have if we'd just let it die.

16. The check is old news
It barely made the mainstream media. Don't help them spread the lies even further for chrissake. The more attention it gets, from either side, the more the media thinks it's a story. Let the damn thing die.

Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 12:57 PM by CatWoman
but I'm not giving a pass to lies about "the damn thing".

Maybe that's why liberals are now on the bottom of the food chain.

I plan to go to my death being outraged over vicious lies and slander.

Hopefully, there are others here who agree with me.

28. How they win
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 02:08 PM by sandnsea
They have a strategy and they stick to it. The strategy is about the same always. Decisive leader. Americans are winners. Americans take charge of their own destiny. Whatever the issue, that's the basic theme. They stick to it.

When a scandal comes up, they neutralize it. They don't try to crush it, they just neutralize it and get it off the front page, then go back to their main strategy. Clarke, opportunist selling books. They don't care whether ALL of America believes that. They just care that their base believes it and the seed of doubt is planted in the swing voters. And the way they do it is for ALL Republicans to be on the exact same page for a week or 10 days. Once that's done, they're back to their main message.

Not Democrats. We don't have a main message and we never will because we're too diverse. And we get too scattered over every little thing that comes along. We should truly all be calling CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNN today about the money, the map and the oil manipulations. That should be IT for our focus against Bush until we've galvanized our base and planted that seed firmly in the minds of the swing voter. But that probably won't happen because Democrats just don't come together on anything. Except, like I tried to say in my ABB post, getting a bad President OUT. This year, I'm not even sure we're going to be able to come together on that.

21. What is the truth?
If AA is not on, why? Are they paying their bills? Are they getting advertising revenue? Matters not if every single Democrat is rabidly supportive -- if they don't get advertising revenue: it will be over quickly. Brace yourselves that it may not fly, the same companies that support the Democratic Party Campaign also support the Republican Campaign and to them radio is just an advertising medium and the trend has been all conservative, so they'll likely put the most dollars where they get the most ears.

The tale of the bounced check

So much for bounced checks.

One day after a broadcaster accused the new liberal talk radio network Air America of failing to make payment and forcing him to pull Al Franken and company off his stations in Chicago and Los Angeles, a New York judge ordered Air America back on the air. But only in Chicago. Air America listeners in L.A. remain in the lurch as the company contemplates legal action there as well, or finding a new broadcast partner for that major market.

Multicultural Radio Broadcasting chief Arthur Liu, who leased airtime to Air America in both Los Angeles and Chicago, kicked the network off the air Tuesday morning, reportedly locking the studio doors and piping in Spanish language programming. He claimed the new network had bounced a check to pay for its February, March and April leased airtime, and owed him $1 million. The accusations set off deep chortles, and a banner Drudge headline, among skeptics who doubt there's a mass market for liberal talk radio. But yesterday, New York state Supreme Court Judge Marylin Diamond found that Air America had fully paid for airtime in Chicago and ordered Multicultural to begin broadcasting Air America's programming again.

As for L.A., Air America's battle with Liu continues. Air America CEO Evan Cohen told reporters the company would either seek legal aide there, or simply find a new home on the dial. According to today's Chicago Tribune , "Air America executives said they were withholding payments for the Los Angeles station because Liu had been 'double-dipping,' or reselling airtime that the network had already bought and paid for, prior to the network's launch a little more than two weeks ago."

The hubbub over the "bounced check," has distracted from the fact of Air America's continued expansion. Since signing on the air just two weeks ago, the network has added new affiliates in San Francisco, San Jose, Pittsburgh, Chapel Hill, N.C., Portland, ME., Colorado Springs, CO., Key West, Fla., and Burlington, VT.

I hope they get this mess cleared up soon. I refuse to listen to that right wing garbage, so my radio is a purely musical device until AA gets back on the air.

NPR doesn't count, since it's an AM coma.

Thanks for the info, CatWoman. :D
