Afghan War Funds Illegally Diverted For Iraq. Hellllooooo?
Is this not a major bombshell? Are these thugs held accountable for anything?

And how about the footage on 60 Minutes of General Franks smiling and lying his ass off about the Iraq war planning? My blood was boiling!

2. It IS a major bombshell!!
I also think telling a Saudi national of war plans before telling the Sec. of State is a major bombshell, yet the media is yawning!! Ho-hum!

3. Gen. Franks was laughing!
Then his eyes looked up and to the left. This is body language for lying after he made a statement. I can't remember which statement it was, but I asked my husband if he saw that (the eyes) and he said he didn't notice.

What was so damn funny, I wonder?

6. I think they were making a joke of all the questions
about Iraq at that time. I remember a day when Bush first made remarks that included Iraq, and Ari Fleischer spun like a whirling dervish that day. Helen Thomas pressed him on it relentlessly, yet he insisted that Bush never said what everybody heard him say... So I think Franks was trying to chuckle as in, "Oh, another Iraq question -- you people are so funny, bringing that up all the time."

4. Gen Meyers
I agree that Gen. Meyers is a flat out liar. Kerry should immediately demand his resignation. Does anyone know if the Code of Military Justice makes it criminal for a General to lie as Gen. Meyers was seen doing last night. At a minimum he should be so embarrassed he should quit.

7. Is there no budget audit dpt that should have noticed this?
And reported back to Congress? Or can it happen all the time, unnoticed, if no one blows the whistle?

9. AUDIT???? Are you kidding?
The DOD hasn't been able to come within millions of being able to explain where their $$ goes. The FBI can't account for 70 or 80 laptops...they don't know if they were lost or stolen.

And you want these guys to account for a measly $700,000!

AWE, comeon....it's almost petty cash!!!!!!!!!!!!

10. Congress has IGNORED its oversight responsiblities,
mainly because the repugs have both houses and the presidency, so they don't want to know.

THIS JUST STOPPED. with the loss of $700 million diverted to Iran-Contra...oops, Iraq instead of Afghanistan, we must hold Dems AND repugs to the highest standards of OVERSIGHT, WHICH IS ONE OF THEIR JOBS!!
