Vietnam is to Iraq as Cambodia is to ?

a) Syria
b) Iran

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_casualties_apr04.htm reports several Marines, as yet unidentified pending notification of next of kin, being killed "fighting Iraqi insurgents near the Syrian border in Qaim." So the question is, if Iraq likened to Vietnam, then which country are we going to be fighting in next under the guise of continuing the fight in Iraq?

Based on recent revelations of bushco secretly funding Iraq before approval from Congress - are we already actually crossing the borders and spending money to prosecute the "war on terrorism" clandestinely?

3. One more vote for Syria
Iran can defend itself much better than Syria can, so we'll just casually slide the combat over into Syria just like we did with Cambodia before.

4. Doesn't the Osama Bin Laden Trail go right through Syria and Iran?
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 02:17 PM by Bandit
We need to bomb that trail. Syria would probably be the answer to your hypothetical question. And I suppose Iran would equal Laos

5. Well with intense fighting occuring near the Syrian border
and foreign nationals presumably entering through Syria it makes sense to bomb them (whether the government can control the flow or not) using Republogic.
Actually my initial reaction was Palestine! but I guess Palestine and Iraq are the same thing.
You know immediately after I wrote that sentence I thought - Ya know, the entire Arab world could be this war's Cambodia

7. Weren't Syrian Peacekeepers involved in a flare up in Kosovo?
I wonder if this might be related to the border war the US is involved in?

10. It was a Jourdanian
who ended up in a gunfight with U.S troops there. The wire service report denied it was related to the war in Iraq, but that was what the reporters were hearing.

9. Syria
I don't think Bush can secretly bomb Iran without immediate public notice.
