1. Testify
I think it's fair to say she should testify (not resign). If Ashcroft falsely characterized her memo during his testimony, it'd be her chance to set the record straight.

3. Testify to what?
That she didn't want to put the Patriot Act into effect? I can't imagine why that would be a problem. She ought to be proud of it.

5. She doesn't have to, remember she get the vote, he dowsn't!
I think she is handling the situation very well. The rest of the commission is supporting her, the public is supporting her, and remember, SHE gets to vote on the Commission. It looks to me like they are going to come down hard on the FBI & CIA. THE FBI IS PART OF THE JUDICIAL ARM OF THE GOV'T. Guess who's in charge of the Judicial arm! HA HA HA

4. She should not resign
and an investigation into the death threats should be launched immediately. The perpetrators should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

6. Warning:cynical pointless post
YEAH she should be SHOT for DARING to QUESTION those that were such HEROES and TRIED to save us from 9/11. I mean how could they do their job when she had written such a brilliant memo and forced a wall up that allowed Al-Queda on to airliners with free beverages? snark snark snark snark.

Alternate plan: find a way to out her husband as cross dressing child molester. That just might work.

9. Look...
I'm just trying to be fair here.

I know Ashcroft is full of it, but it only seems fair for everyone involved in intelligence during the Bush and Clinton administrations to testify.

Now, if Gorelick disagrees that the wall of separation between the CIA and the FBI contributed to 9/11 (or if she had some other rationale for increasing said wall), she would be serving the commission's stated purpose well by testifying to that effect.

Just because I'm supporting John Kerry doesn't mean I'm not going to be fair with regard to the 9/11 commission. It is my opinion that some of the responsibility for 9/11 falls on Bush's administration, and some of it falls on Clinton's administration (Hell, some of it probably falls on the elder Bush's administration).

I'm just saying, it would be doing the 9/11 families a great disservice to turn this into any more of a political issue than it already is.
