Cut and Runners Check In Please
I believe that every day we stay in Iraq ads to the dimension of the disaster. At this point all we can accomplish by staying over there is ever-increasing damage to both of our societies. I think that we do have a legitimate fight with Al Qaeda, but Iraq has nothing to do with that. In the end, only the Iraqi people can decide the future of Iraq.

OUT NOW!

Who is with me?

1. I'm down with that
but at least try to get a UN force in first to get some stability going.

3. Oh We're cutting and running alright...
Just watch, we'll start pulling our guys out after the transfer of power to an as of yet undetermined "entity"

Our fake coalition is crumbling, and we'll just watch Iraq explode into chaos and civil war as we leave.

24. cut and run...we're good at that
let's see...Afghanistan, El Salvador, Chile...
I don't know... Wes seems to think since Bush got us into this mess, it's up to us to see it through and help the Iraqis stabilize the country. We leave now and it's an all-out civil war... I just don't know...

4. I agree
We need to admit we made a mistake and get the rest of the world to help clean up our mess. That's something Bush will never do however.

2. I would NOT call it "Cutting and Running"
Pulling the troops out with UN peacekeepers to protect civilians is the smartest way as proposed by Kucinich.

Cutting and running is a derogatory way of putting it and helps feed rethug propaganda.

I believe the same tactic must happen in Israel. UN peacekeepers in to protect Israelis AND Palestinian civilians and the soldiers OUT (except in their own well-defined territories).

6. I'm willing to call it by its ugliest name
And I'm not sure we'll find anybody in the UN to sucker into sending their own troops in.

7. I'm with you
I think that anything that we try to set up will be regarded as illegitimate and overthrown as soon as we leave anyway, so we might as well go now as set something up spend four years propping it up and have it destroyed once we leave anyways.

And before somebody comes up with some UN thing, please explain why Iraqis should like the UN any better than us? The UN is America's handmaiden in international politics and Iraqis know it.

8. I believe that now
At first I felt that since we broke it we should fix it. No more. Our very presence in Iraq is making it worse. Let NATO or the UN do the police work.

Of course, Cheney will be upset if we don't get the oil and the military bases.

10. 700 was 700 too many stop making new Osamas today.
It's not "our" war, it's bush's war if he wants it so bad let him get
a gun, ask for volunteers & lead the charge himself.

Anyone that wants too go with him could be discharged from the military to go with him.

All his rich pals that seem to think this is so important can then put their money where their mouths are and finance this war themsleves.

Should he pull it off he can have his wish at last to be the dictator of Iraq, that is why he was so jealous of Sadam to begin with probably.

14. Oh, I believe that. Anyone who says we should stay until it's safe is
nuts. After Vietnam who would believe that. If you didn't read or don't remember it, then you might not know why we should get out, but a quick Google should dispell those concerns.

18. We need to leave but also pay reparations for the damage we caused
Perhaps through a UN trust fund. Let the Iraqis determine how to rebuild their country, and if they need more money to do it, they can go to the fund.

22. See, I don't see why any foreign troops should occupy Iraq
I think the future of Iraq is something that only the Iraqis can work out. That process may be messy, and the results may not be what we want but in the end what will happen will happen.

26. I believe if we were a country of true principles, we would let the Iraqis
decide.

We have done the damage, it will take many years to repair. The quicker we work to admit our mistakes, the less harm will come to the planet and all inhabitants.

Seems to me many men in particular fail to see this. Am I wrong? Where is the long-term vision in observing the consequences of our actions?

Every other country is cutting and running, when will we comprehend that almost everyone of our leaders is not leading?

If they were real leaders, we simply would not be in this horrific mess.

If we cut and run, we still dont escape our consequences, no matter how fast we can sprint and how fast our mouths can blame and rationalize some highly indefensible actions.
