It's not just Gallop, new ABC/Washington Post Poll - Bush 48 Kerry 43
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A25138-2004Apr19.html

In a matchup, Bush holds a 48 percent to 43 percent lead over Kerry among registered voters, with independent Ralph Nader at 6 percent. In early March, shortly after he effectively wrapped up the Democratic nomination, Kerry led Bush 48 percent to 44 percent.

1. LOL...Bush is ahead in one day after Woodward splash!
I don't believe anything anyone tells me anymore. Especially polls...screw them all.

I know a LOT of people who don't like Bush, even here in the Republican South! I don't think there's much support for Bush outside of the church crowd, which is a definite minority, regardless of what people think. I know they vote, but I even know a bunch of them that don't like Bush.

Social Security, Medicare and WAR trump most concerns. Most folks don't want to fight a war, and they want their medical bills paid. A lot of people are afraid to criticize Bush, but they'll vote against them and say "what happened" after it's over. It's kind of like saying you don't believe everything in the Bible...it's just not polite conversation down here.

I think Kerry gets 56% of the vote in the general.

2. This result just doesn't make sense when you put in
the context of two dozen polls in the last month.
I'm willing to put my non-partisan, objective hat on and I still say :wtf:? I mean, pray tell, just what did * do in the last week or two to cause him to jump 10 points in the polls?

3. tell me again how many ballots Nader is on so far?
I believe the answer is none. Its gonna be tough getting 6% that way.

5. It kind of doesn't matter.
Anyone who's determined to vote Nader after all this would probably write his name in or not vote anyways.

6. Polls of registered voters with Nader in them
are highly misleading. His support is extremely soft.

4. Forget the freakin' polls already!
There's a long way to november.

Whoever's that worried about these meaningless numbers - write an UNEMOTIONAL letter to your local paper outlining some facts on bush's failures - that will do a lot more to right these numbers than whining about them here.

8. There's more in this and we better wake up
I just posted something a few minutes ago after going to the ABC website. They have a long run down. We have blown it in about every category. We were leading Bush in all areas just weeks ago and now we lead him by only 6 points in one area-healthcare. So while you purse your lips and spit on polls, wake up and see how badly we are losing ground on all areas. Let the pigs suffocate in their shit as far as I'm concerned. I'm truly believing that certain classes of people in this society really need to fall to peon status since that is the level of their minds.

Provided we don't get Diebolded! And then we must dismantle our facist mainstrean press who has gotten us into this mess by shamelessly and relentlessly manipulating our lazy, childlike, closeminded, rascist, IGNORANT sheeple!!

13. With the primary battle over, and with Kerry focussing on fundraising ...
...rather than high profile campaign events, of course Bush -- whom the media adores -- will go up in the polls now.

Kerry was riding constant coverage of the primaries to those high numbers.

He won't get press like that again for months. Just be happy that he was beating Bush when he did have press like that.

And think logically: when the press gets back to covering him and Bush at the same time, who's going to do better?

I think you have to give the nod to Kerry.
