1. Lately I can only watch Lou Dobbs and Tweety. |
|
I'm sure before too long they will go completely over to the dark side also. I use to think that news reporters would at some point get a conscience and report the news objectively. I long for the days when I could turn on the TV and see what was happening locally, nationally and internationally in an hour and feel pretty sure I was told the truth. David Brinkley, Chet Huntley, Edward R Morrow where are you?

Sun Tzu:
"Know thy enemy as you know thyself and you shall not fear the outcome of a thousand battles. If you do not know they enemy but you know theyself, then you shall win one and lose one. If you do not know thy enemy and not know theyself, then every engagement you undertake shall be fraught with peril."

5. I was just thinking today |
|
that my mental and physical health is improving because I can now listen to Air America. I truly do detect a lowering in the level of hysteria and anger I used to get into because I was forced to listen to these whores when I wanted to chill out in front of the boob tube or listen to something in my car. Now I'm not frustrated in the car, and I can stream at home. Also we have DISH and there are a lot of good programs on FSTV.

I just wish those who are addicted to the whore networks could understand how immature and cheap this entertainment is, I know that isn't gonna happen anytime soon.

12. But what's the alternative? No TV news at all? |
|
I'm a news junkie -- even bad news is better than no news.
Watchable: Tweety, Lou Dobbs, Nic Robertson (He's done two hard hitting specials on CNN Int'l on the new Iraq and today's Afghanistan).

I hate to say this but I've never actually bothered watching MSNBC. Faux is just ridiculous and CNN has taken such a rightward swing lately it's nauseating. Are they any better?

18. I will NEVER stop watching tv news because... |
|
like it or not, it's how most of America gets any news it gets. Fox is an exception -- just surfing past it raises my blood pressure -- but I watch the other networks, and pick up the phone and call them to give them hell on a very regular basis. If we don't let them know we're out here, we can expect even more of the same. Paul Krugman probably had little effect on Wolf Blitzer when he used a column to call him out about his innuendo re. Richard Clarke's personal life, but he called him on it anyway.
To close our eyes and ears, for example, to the fact that the revelations in the Woodward book are not reaching the American people in a way that helps them understand their significance is to live in a dream world we can't afford to live in.

20. We know that news sources are biased.... |
|
But we have our own alternatives like this website, bartcop, guy james, and air america. So it's not a wise choice to trust one news source. Listen to the same things from many points of view and draw your own conclusion. That's the definition of a true liberal.
