Blue Angels Rocked
I grew up near WPAFB where the Thunderbirds ruled, but I went to a Navy Air Show last weekend in Meridian that literally rocked. Lots of loud R&R music while watching an amazing group of pilots fly everything from WW2 Memphis Belle to the most impressive stunt pilot I've ever seen, and of course the Blue Angels.

There were Army, Navy, Marine AF, "cool" set-ups there to register kids, but as I walked and looked around for 4 hours...not many sign-ups. Uh-oh....d,r,a,f,t might be coming....

I expected to be a lone liberal at this show...but the crowd was filled with Vietnam Vets, long-hairs, hippie folks and others...bumper stickers against * were observed on the 2 mile hike on the runway to get to the show (passing "arrest lines").

We can love our technology and men and women in uniform. They are not the enemy.

The enemy is the Chicken Hawks in Charge!

2. LOVE the Blue Angels!
I saw them three times last year. But my cousin's son is one of the (only six) pilots, so that helps to make it really special. I would highly recommend that, if they come anywhere near you, you go. What a thrill it is!

If I could live my life over, I would fly one of those F-18s! Maybe in my next one?

5. Wow he's one??
That is interesting about your relative.

If I could live my life over...there would be no fricking way I would ever fly one of those.....

But thankfully there are lots of those willing...

About past lives ... Uniontown WW II flyer's memories in Louisiana boy

By Judy Kroeger
DAILY COURIER
Thursday, April 15, 2004

James Leininger, 6, of Lafayette, La., loves airplanes.

"He has always been extraordinarily interested in airplanes," said James' mother, Andrea Leininger, by telephone from their Louisiana home.

Lots of kids love airplanes, but James' story is unique. He has memories of being a World War II fighter pilot from Uniontown -- Lt. James McCready Huston, shot down near Iwo Jima in 1945.

SNIP...

When James was 2 1/2 years old, he and Andrea were shopping and he wanted a toy airplane. "I said to him, 'Look, it has a bomb on the bottom' and he told me, 'That's not a bomb, it's a drop tank.' I had no idea what a drop tank was."

CONTINUED...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll meet again.

PS: Congrats to your cousin! He must be most proud of his son. He has my eternal thanks for helping keep ours a free nation.

We are all proud of Andy. If I knew how to upload a picture, I would do that.

Man, I had this long explanation typed out about how the pilots have to be exceptionally physically and mentally fit, because of the high speeds (and precision maneuvers) under which they operate, but I lost it. I was telling you all about how pilots in combat missions wear compression pants, to stop the flow of blood from their brains (or they might pass out) at speeds faster than sound, but it disappeared. I wanted you to know that these Blue Angel pilots control the blood flow through their own body fitness, since they maintain it for shorter periods.

I also wanted to point out the sound, the sound of 4, 5 and 6 jets flying directly overhead. Not to be missed!

3. You are crying in other threads?
About how segregated Dems are?

Funny, it's supposed progressives that cause the divisions on this place.

Wake up and live in America, not your own fricking private Idahoe.
