If George W. Bush literally stabbed a person to death live on television |
|
it appears his popularity would rise.
We live in a country of sheep comforted by an idiot in the White House.

He needs all the help WE can give him.

1. I have a theory that he could |
|
appear wearing only a pink tutu and black dress socks on the White House lawn, singing "How Dry I Am", taking an enormous dump, all while eating toddler fingers and toes, and about 30% of his supporters would argue it was for national security and ISN'T he a great president?
Seriously.

the dress socks be held up with those sock suspenders? I'm not sure the voters could hold with those.

He shows up for a speech totally blotto. Slurs and stumbles and grabs a butt or boob, makes a lascivious remark. Swears at a reporter, attempts to punch him, misses, stumbles some more. I think it could happen.

One has to consider that Bush's strongest base of support also blindly follows whatever their church tells them to do. They believe that Bush is as infalable as god...and, the scary thing is, I think Bush believe's this as well.

14. Know Your Neighbors... |

IF the stabbing victim was a ninety year old Grandma, stricken lame, and the Shrub stabbed her on national TV, claiming she was an "evil-doer brandishing knitting needles of terra," half of the audience would jump on stage and club her after she was down. I truly believe, that is how FAR GONE this country is. I can not BELIEVE how many people (if x-tians do indeed count as humans, I think it far more likely that they are pod people) STILL support the monkey cowboy king. They actually BUY the spin, no questions asked. They forgive all. Un-friggin' believable... Disgustipated, BHN

But that guy he stabbed HATED OUR FREEDOM!! What's wrong with you? Why are you so full of hate?
I can hear the pundits now: "I thought the President came across very strong tonight. His performance with the knife was forceful and to the point and I think the American people will respond well to this new show of determination."

16. If GW was caught on camera.... |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 10:55 PM by uberotto
Standing over a dead hooker, his pants around his anckles, a bloody knife in one hand and a $20 in the other, all that we would see is:
Condi and Dick on the talk shows saying that anyone who tries to insiunate that GW was involved in anything inappropriate are just "playing politics".
Ashkroft would personally lead an investigation which would prove that GW did nothing wrong,
and after about 5 minutes of being in the news, most of the time being spent defending GW, the matter would be forgotton, never to mentioned again by any cable news bobblehead.
Oh yea, I forgot, his approval among wife beaters would go up 80%. This would quickly be followed by every news outlet telling us that the wife beater is the new political "it" group and anyone who isn't catering specifically to this group could never win an election.
Also forgot to mention that Scottie would do a press thing claiming that the whole "misunderstanding" is all Clinton's fault.

19. He Could Be In The Oval Office ... |

... on live TV, sniffing a line off one of his daughter's bare breasts and doing his other daughter on the Presidential desk ...
... and Hannity would insist that what we saw was a virtual animation created by Hillary Clinton, with help from Saddam's old network administrator.
And, apparently according to these polls, Bush would move up three points and Kerry would be criticized for being anti-child.
Gawd, what a depressing poll that was today ...

because I've had almost identical thoughts as you. They are like sheep - more like lemmings being led off a cliff. It defies logic and rational common sense.
It's like people having a death grip on their own greed, fear, and prejudice. Bush & Co. (and some other rethugs in the past) found a way to tap into it, but they're still being almost totally manipulated. And these folks would fight to their death to defend "rugged individualism"...

28. Bush's policies aren't why people support him . . . |
|
it's simply a matter of celebrity . . . he's the guy on tv who talks tough and promises to protect us, and that's all people see . . . he's not much different than Ruben Studdard, or Rupert on Survivor . . . they're on tv, they're celebrities who project warm fuzzies, and so Americans like them . . . what Bush actually does or doesn't do is of little or no consequence to these folks . . . all that matters is that he's George W. Bush, our tough-as-nails, take-no-shit-from-anyone president . . . and that he talks to God, and God to him . . .
