shrubbies support baffles me |
|
shrubbie continues to poll very well and i don't get it. i mean, i understand if you have an i.q. of 78, he looks smart, if you're a moronic, pompous jerk, he's your inspiration -- sort of, "If he can President, so can I." syndrome. But that can't be more than 25% of the registered voting population. SO WHAT GIVES? Where does this 51% support come from. Do they poll near the repub nat'l convention h.q. or something? Who the hell is supporting this twit?

What I have learned during my time on DU is this: It is easy to become immersed in DU and the belief that there are many people thinking like we DU. Unfortunately, if you take ten steps back and REALLY test the water in the "real world," we are a very SMALL minority. The majority of our fellow 'murikkkans are dumber than a box of hair. BHN

the gop in power not so much the Shrub. Why they could put a potted plant in the oval office and if it's registered republican it's Otay. Course we really do have a potted plant in there now, well i just proved my own point.

6. Not pleasant to contemplate, but... |
|
...I am convinced that Bush's polls are up because of, not despite the recent upsurge in US casualties.
Thirty million, maybe more, of our fellow citizens are going to ask one question -- "Which one of these two men is more likely to kill Moslems in large numbers, and without remorse?" -- before they vote, so long as the coffins fly home.
That's how a number of American voters large enough to fill the state of California, or make up a middle-sized EU member state feel.
That's enough people to swing an election, and Kerry will never (thank God) win on that question.
Revenge. Brainstem politics.
I get nauseous just thining about it.

one/thousandth of the awful things Bush has done, the Republicans would have lynched him.
I have been wondering what the poll results would be if people were asked if they wanted Bush to be Emperor.
I hate to say it but I think 50% of Americans would say yes.

Will they regret voting for him when we're trying to fix the problems he has caused in 5 - 10 - 20 years? A lot of people regret voting for him the last time, my husband being one of them (he wouldn't listen to me then, but boy is he tired of hearing about it now!)

10. polls LIE!!!! TURN YOUR TV OFF!! |
|
QUIT listening to the media. They are desperately trying to lull your brain to sleep so that they can demoralize you into doing nothing. They see the fire they've lit under our asses and THEY ARE SCARED.
I've heard tons of reports of how people will not vote repug this year. But I'm sure they are not the ones being polled or interviewed. Someone nailed it straight on: corp's own the media and it's polling farce.
Turn that shit off and get some rest. Bush is desperate. Why else would they be trying so damn hard to look good so early in the game? They are effing scared. And they should be once talk of impeachment kicks in and catches on fire.
We are strong, united, and more determined than ever to get rid of this asshole. Instead of being afraid, just stop for a second and smell the FEAR: it's not coming from us. That was LAST year. This year, we found our voices again. This time, it's all them. Trying to convince us that they aren't scared. But their poker faces aren't holding up. There are nervous tics if you watch close enough.

9/11 scared everyone. After 9/11, with the help of the media shills, shrubbie was quite successful in exploring Americans' fear to make many of them believe he has "strong leadership" on anti-terror. Ironically, the recent publicity of 9/11 investigation and uprisings in Iraq seemed to shift the public's concerns from domestic issues to terror and foreign policies, on which shrubbie got relatively high approval rate in today's CNN and WP polls, I believe mostly for his performance after 9/11 (even though any incumbent president would have done better than him). Moreover, many Americans still buy Bu$h's lie that Iraq war is part of the war on terror. So even Iraq is a big mess now, many people still think Bu$h made right decision to go to the war.
On the positive side, we should remember Bu$h's approval rates on terror were in 80s and 90s short after 9/11, and now are in 50s. We have more hard work to do. I believe one vital task for us is to make the public understand that the Iraq war is a distraction to the war on terror, rather than part of it, and it did not make America and the world safer. I was disappointed that Kerry did not emphasize this in MTP on Sunday.

that refuses to hold Bush and his thugs accountable for anything....it does not matter if they take a dump on the constitution or threaten someone with their job or even life (Valerie Plame)...the media decided in 2002 that they were going to give Bush a pass on everything, no matter how sickening the act was. Bush and Rove know this....A politician who knows they can lie and do whatever they want because the media will not hold them accountable, the skies the limit! Now if Clinton lies about sex, that is a whole other most serious matter, you know what I mean!
