Have we figured it out yet?
How many hours do we spend trying to understand what's really happening with our administration? I think most of us have figured it out basically, especially since all the newly released publications and testimony confirm what we've been saying for years. And the right wing still defend the nonsense! Who cares if it doesn't make sense. Don't they realize they'll be victims to the backlash just as much as us liberals? It's eery and scary how they don't care about Bush's multitudes of lies, stonewalling and secrecy; the same people that were appalled for months over Clinton's clarification of what sex is, something that was none of their business, but probably the closest they had been to sex for a long time.

This administration came into the White House under the most unconventional and appalling manner, is closely following PNAC, including the New Pearl Harbor event that would never have happened if the policies existing at the time were followed. Bush and Cheney wanted Saddam out before the sanctions were lifted, and they have been planning this since the sanctions were set at the first Gulf war, not in November 2003. All involved are illegally profitting to the tune of billions. Our troops are left as sitting ducks in a grossly negligent post war catastrophy. What's next? Review PNAC and see - the draft to accomplish Bush/Cheney world domination is next. Our reputation in the world, not to mention our safety is severely jeopardized by the reckless arrogance of these corrupt maniacs in Washington.

I've never seen so much hatred and double standards demonstrated by the GOP. Those idiots think they're safer with Bush in charge! I don't sleep at night and wonder everyday when we'll see a new catastrophic attack on us that will make 9/11 look like a fender bender. We need Bush AND Cheney out as soon as possible, in big numbers. There can't be any room for their outrageous schemes to get into power another four years. WAKE UP AMERICA!

3. As Woodward said, Iraq, "It's near a Road Warrior like situation.
Amazing analogy, I saw Bush in that movie as the Humongous saying, "You will give us the precious juice," while holding a head in his hand.

5. there are three scary constituencies
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 01:02 AM by leftofthedial
1. Sociopathic insider neocons, who don't care about good or bad outcomes, except as they affect their own power. Thinkgs are going very well for them these days, thank you.

2. Delusional fundie "Christians," who actively want their varying and conflicting versions of the "end times" to come about, wo they can feel justified in their delusions. Like many delusional people, they are incredibly dangerous and often violent when confronted with the reality that puts the lie to their fantasies.

3. Psycholtic, ignorant, violent, hateful hardcore RWers--freepers, dittoheads, single-issue morans (guns, abortion, gay rights . . .), who are deranged and ultra-violent, believing their cause gives them license to kill.

Nothing will shake any of these factions. They are mentally ill and incompetent to understand reality. They will do ANYTHING to ensure the RW stays in power. The worlds they have constructed for themselves depend on it.

6. I think you're right.
Most of my family fit the "second scary constituency." My brother fits the third one.

I used to be a fundy. I still don't understand why I was willing to let in new information and change. Most of the fundies I know won't listen to any opposing view.

How can you tell which right-wingers can change and which can't?

7. I think there are some you left out
We still tend to believe, or at least speak as if we believe, that government is what makes the decisions that shape the events of our lives. True, they do make some of those decisions. But so do corporations. So do international banking interests. Etc. I no longer believe that 'government' is the most important factor. Beyond the three you've mentioned there are other forces at work behind the scenes--forces which get little mention in the media or here at DU. I'm speaking of international elites. I'm speaking of forces who might believe it is in their interest to redraw the political map of the Middle East--as bloody a proposition as that would undoubtedly be. I'm speaking of forces who see governments--whole societies--as something to be played like men on a chessboard. And, too, I am speaking of the long range competitions which exist between governments, peoples, races, civilizations.
