I was just angry with Bush - now I'm angry with the whole Republican Party |
|
They are a bunch of traitors. They would follow this guy thru hell if he told them it was going to get cooler soon. They permit him to lie. They defend his traitorous actions with Saudi Arabia with their silence. They approve of him hiding information up his ass. They continue to support our troops being killed in an illegal war. They put their Party above their country. They profess to be Christians and defend actions like children of the Devil himself. They make it impossible to get to the truth about George W Bush because they have been brainwashed to the max. They deserve no respect. They should be defeated and have their asses kicked until they regain their senses. They are destroying our nation and they don't give a damn. They blame it all on partisan Democrats as they control every facet of government, including the courts and the media. When they say we are angry, today they are correct about one American.

They do not deserve respect.
Not only that, they should be PUBLICLY SHAMED!! The same way the allies shamed the complicit germans in re to the concentration camp.
I am pretty terrible.... when someone says they are republican, I make no effort to hide my DISGUST for them personally!
They want to paint ME as unpatriotic because I oppose illegal wars and because I believe in the Bill of Rights? To hell with them.

|
has always been a Republican IS shamed. What makes it all worse is that his name is Bush and he actually apologizes for his name when he introduces himself. He says the president* (the only who shall always bear a certain footnote after his name in history) is a disgrace. Not ALL Republicans are falling for the neocons. Even though they still call themselves Republicans, they are the older folks who are Eisenhauer Republicans. Most of us can deal with and find lots to agree on with real Republicans. I think most of them are just too ashamed right now to speak up much. I'm counting on these old-style Republicans at election time.

I agree with you here. I know no one as blindly partisan as the Rush Limbaugh Republican Party of today. They cannot be talked with and they cannot be negotiated with and they cannot be compromised with. Our only solution left is to kick their fascist asses!

If you knew me, you would know I don't get angry easily. The problem is that the conservative talk show Repubs represent the entire Party except for a few that are too afraid to open their mouths to disagree. They deserve no respect and need to be thrown out of office on their asses.

Your choice of words and your interpretations of the situation are suspect.... I question your views, opinions and motives...
Although i am against all wars, Clinton built a way more respected coalition in Kosovo and actually HAD a plan for post war Kosovo, which if you were paying attention, he was able to walk through those countries a celebrated hero, although there is still flair ups of voilence, things are way better after one year than they are a year after in Iraq. I would also like to point out that Milosivek(sp) was tried in an international court, will Saddam see that same justice????
I doubt it...

Kosovo in many ways set the precedent for Afganistan and then Iraq. Also, if you think Kosovo is a success, you will find fewer and fewer Kosovars of any ethnicity who agree with you, as they slowly realise that the International Community was never interested in giving them independance. Things are way better than in Iraq because they were never nearly as bad in the first place.

bombed Iraq under the false accusation that Hussein kicked out the inspectors.
Check it out on the Fairness in Accuracy in Reporting website (FAIR).
I still would agree to get the Republicans out though. The Democrats are clearly the lesser of the two evils. Don't be fooled though. They're both evil.

24. not logical - if GOP say Iraq is rosy and lie, then when Dem says not rosy |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 09:04 AM by papau
how the hell is that ignoring truth, integrity and honesty to get a Dem leader into office.
I hear this pretend sophistication all the time - both sides do "it" - trust me.
Sorry - but that is bull.
At the moment only one party defines sleaze.
When my party was going the way of liars I was out in the streets and letting Nixon get elected - because they had to learn that the point of the Democratic party was to be the not sleaze party. Indeed in individual races Dems have been found to be crooks - and other Dems have not voted for them.
Indeed - with a Dem majority population for most of the last century, that was the main reason the GOP had any victories - namely Dems turning on their own when their own seemed below standard,
The negative ads work for the GOP because the Dem vote is moved - When is the last time you saw a Dem negative ad work against the GOP to move GOP votes, Misleading GOP ads won for the GOP in 80, 84. We can depend on our media to say nothing when the GOP lies in an ad - but we can expect our media to make a 6 month project out of any Dem ad that could be seen as only 95% correct.
Trust me - the vote American/vote GOP slogan is owned by the GOP.

You are the one who needs to think about what is worth fighting for. Dialogue with people who are intent on supporting the fascist regime in power will only lead to Gulags for all who oppose them, The fact is that anyone still supporting the bushco is beyond reasoned debate. So imo it needs to be personal for them . oh and by the way, you don't like my attitude put me on ignore.

...to take a 'principled stand' and be ON THE RECORD of being against something. Most Democrats knew or should have known that Iraq had nothing to do with the 'war on terrorism' and that an unprovoked attack would be an AGGRESSIVE WAR.
- I grow weary of hearing fellow Democrats make excuses for their leadership by saying 'they didn't have enough votes' to counter the actions of a blatantly corrupt and secretive Bush* government.

The repukes had the votes even without the Dems on the war res.... I'm getting tired of folks on the left pretending that the war would have never happened if the Dems stood up.... Oh sure we would have been on record but so fucking what... The question is? Did the repukes have the votes are not?
Majority Party: Republican (51 seats)
Minority Party: Democrat (48 seats)
Other Parties: Independent (1 seat)
Total Seats: 100
Even if all Dems including Zell Miller voted know they would have still lost. The only Repuke not to vote yes was Chafee... and that's not even including Cheney's vote if needed... The point is... The war res would have been passed no matter..... Hey believe me..I'm not happy the Dems voted for this thing but to say things would have been different if they didn't is one big stretch...

I've recently made comments in frustration of the Dems'n'DINOs, but I'm still voting Kerry. Which puts my sanity (or maybe lack of it) beyond question.
I recall an old phrase, used by bullies when describing me: "Go fight him, he doesn't fight back." The Dem party is what I used to be. Somebody who never fought back. Worse, they HELP the repukes with their capitulation. Even I never did that.
Occasionally I hear something good, but how far can they go before they lose their precious corporate support? x(

29. To repeat some of my favourite quotes |
|
at the risk of being boring, I'll repeat the quotes I posted yesterday in a similar thread by Nye Bevan, founder of the NHS:
"We have been the dreamers, we have been the sufferers, now we are the builders. We enter this campaign at this general election, not merely to get rid of the Tory majority. We want the complete political extinction of the Tory Party." . . . "...no amount of cajolery can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party that inflicted those experiences on me. So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin. They condemned millions of first-class people to semi-starvation."
Now I am a socialists, so not really a 'Democratic Party' partisan, but whatever disappointment I may feel towards parties such as Labour or the Democratic Party cannot compare to the disguist I feel towards the Republicans.

40. Yeah why is loyalty to their party above their loyalty to the PEOPLE |
|
they were elected to serve ? John McCain seems to get it but he's campaigning for Bush, how, why? You cannot support liars and crooks out of a duty to loyalty. It's called bucking it up, taking the lumps, and realizing HEY there are things more important than keeping your fucking job. ARRG....power corrupts... I don't think we should have elections I think we should have a lottery, and you get to serve four years and that's it! I'm tired of being screwed because these assholes want power. And yeah sometimes that applies to the Dems too, of course.
But, I can't even debate with Republicans anymore, it's like debating with a child, if you don't believe in facts but in make believe- then there is no discussion anymore.

42. They are just stupid but they didn't strike the match... |
|
Bush did. Why, everybody knew Saddam had WMDs...No! Everybody did not "know" he had WMDs. They thought he might have them. That's what the CIA was telling all the other nations also. Evrybody thought he might have them. But nobody was stupid enough to strike the match on a hunch but Bush did....and some people cannot assimilate why he would do such a dangerous and irrational act. It was not enough to attack the terrorists in Afghanistan...he needed more. And that is a big difference in George W Bush and those pantywaists that went along with him. But, they are nothing to brag about and should be criticized severely also. And should be sent home at the earliest possible moment.
