OK, I read a little Chomsky

Someone posted a very interesting article written by Noam Chomsky -

And I read some of it....and now I am wondering...
how much longer will the American people put up with Bush and his Iraq/middleeast/Israel policy? Will we be influenced with a false hand over to a caretaker government, or even a false democracy in Iraq? Will we be fooled? When will the course of history correct itself to a path of peace?

And, given the press releases by Bush/Sharon and the newest assasination against the Hamas leader - is it just my tinfoil hat getting too tight, but I swear they (Bush and Sharon) are trying to stir up or incite a BIG terror event???

And watching history unfold as it has over the past weeks and months, it occurs to me that the Bush foreign policy and its appeasement of Israel will generate a never ending conflict.....this IS what they want isn't it? It is not stability they are looking towards, or security for that matter. Stability means stagnation - and where is the profit in that eh?

1. Countries are Often Re-Educated by Defeats

In the larger sense, there's no chance this country will be invaded and occupied. But in the smaller sense, there's a chance that a major military failure in Iraq will provide an opening for some more people to educate themselves on US history and foreign policy. Worked with Vietnam.

US foriegn policy will not change appreciably in the near future. Democrats will not kill as many people as republicans overall, but the purpose of our military will still be economic in nature.
