Republicans joke about assassinating Senator Clinton....
<snip>

State Rep. Jennifer Carroll made a joke that suggested Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton could help the country best if she was assassinated.

<snip>
Earlier in the day, Carroll opened her remarks during a discussion of Senate races by making a joke about Clinton. She said the New York senator and former first lady was visited by the ghosts of three presidents — Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln — and asked each what she could do to help the nation.

Carroll said Lincoln's response was "Go to a theater." Lincoln was assassinated in Ford's Theater in Washington.

1. LOL . . . . They can't even get an original joke :)

I've heard that joke told for 3 years . . . except the ghosts were visiting Bush :).

This one is old and wasn't even worthy of "news" in my opinion. It makes US look bad to make a big deal out of it.

2. I think it is outrageous that this is acceptable.
I think a big deal should be made of it.
It's a huge low.

4. Maybe if a fellow senator said it or a congressman
but I don't think anyone cares what some state rep says.

5. Imprision her
if a persona making a joke about bush (punchline something like "god speaking though a burning bush) can get 5 years for telling it, let the pendulum swing the other way

7. I agree.
Both sides say stupid, inappropriate things. Focusing on these statements simply detracts from the real issues--where we are strongest. The pukes will always win these tit-for-tat debates b/c they control the media.

3. Reprehensible

... but par for the course, that an elected official of our government would stoop to such bad taste. Well, bad taste doesn't even cover this. It's about as bad as Bushie searching under his desk for WMD.
