Geebus! Congressman tried to take gun on plane. |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 02:41 PM by Ripley
On the news on AA...story about a Republican congressman from Indiana who was pulled out by authorities at an airport because he had a handgun in his briefcase.
But it's okay. His aide said he "forgot" it was in there.
AAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.

1. If he was on his way to Congress... |
|
... it would be illegal to detain him in any way.
It's in the Constitution.

A doctor took a few guns and knives onto a jet at the airport in the neighboring city to "prove a point" (he got all the way to the gate) and went to jail and had a huge fine against him.
Why should a Congressman not be held accountable?

6. Favorite Robert Byrd story |
|
My friend used to work for him.
Byrd was driving tothe Senate when he was pulled over for speeding. The patrolmen steps to the car and Byrd hands him his pocket edition of the Constituion (the one he always reads on C-SPAN) and tells him to read the section quoted. The flabbergasted patrolman lets him go.
Byrd later apologized and paid the ticket.

7. Thanks. Couldja put info in the subject line? That's why there's a subject |
|
line so we can choose what we read.
I appreciate the info but that's a big pet peeve of mine on this site where I spend hours reading and writing on life and death issues with a very slow dial-up connection.
Peace, Josh

Sorry, I don't start threads much and I was shocked to hear that on the radio!
I'll remember that in the future.
