Have you ever noticed with right-wing talk shows...
at least the ones I listen to, many callers open up by saying how they agree with the host on EVERYTHING. I've heard it on Rush, Hannity and some local right wing talk shows in Cincinnati and other markets. I'll listen to Mitch Albom, who's taken liberal stances on a number of issues, and the Air America shows, and I have yet to hear a caller say they agree with them on everything. In fact, a significant percentage of them will call to vehemently disagree.

Is that a common trait of a neocon? They just blindly follow some "authority figure" like a herd of sheep because they can't critically think for themselves?

Has anyone else noticed this?

Just as Common for Nazis as Busheviks

Just as common for Tonton Macoutes as Busheviks

ALL Totalitarian Scum share this quality.

7. I've always said
That the only reason reich wingers dislike the Taliban is because they are muslim.

That is the only thing they hate about the Taliban.

5. One of the great things about Randi Rhodes
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 04:33 PM by RobertSeattle
Is she stays away from the "I know the truth" shtick and challenges her listeners to figure it out themselves and to NOT immediately believe everything she says.

6. Right-winger = brainless moron
That's why right-wing talk radio is so popular. Hannity or Rush will rattle off the bullshit talking points for the brain-dead listeners to absorb, and they in turn regurgitate those talking points to their fellow conservatives.

8. Yeah, what's up with that?
How can it be that they all think the same thoughts?

Seems to be a huge difference from the leftish side. They want ANSWERS.

10. You see that over at lucianne.com, too
even more so than FR. Absolutely everything Bush says or does is just fine with them. If * should change his mind on something, they all immediately turn on a dime, like a school of fish.

11. The Essence Of A Flying Monkey
A thread that runs through all right wing zealots is the need to belong...to be a small fish in a big pond...with no individual personality. It's a world of absolutes and secures...where all questions have answers and all things are in black and white.

This is thought manipulation on the highest scale, using the rich and powerful forces of religion, the banks and corporate media against any who question their interests and motives.

If you like this kind of world, Rush is your man.

12. Yes! On C-SPAN the Republicans callers often say
"I agree with Boosh 100%." I scream at my tv and say I don't even agree with my husband 100%-- How can that be?

13. Not a common trait of a neocon.
Neocons have only been around for a few years.

They are more like snake-oil salesmen selling to a gullible citizenry.

I listened to Rush once a few years ago and he was actually arguing that in order to solve the problem of poverty, poor people should be taxed. His rationale was that if only the poor were taxed, people would have an incentive to get rich.

He pleaded his case with well, and with no critical comments from the audience, it almost sounded reasonable.

Of course, it all falls apart if you actually examine it with even the slightest critical view. I'd be MUCH better off making $1 million and paying 70% taxes, than I would be making $10,000 and paying no taxes. The incentive for poor people to get rich is already there. If they had the ability and knowledge to do so, they'd already be doing it.

That's where the right has been incredibly successful in recent years. Their think tanks come up with simplistic, common-sense sounding anecdotes that spread around like wildfire via email, right-wing talk, and the media.
