Has Richard Lugar endorsed Bush yet? |
|
I just wonder if there will be a republican Zell Miller. And I know that might sound redundant, but you know, a senate GOPer who's fed up with Bush and decides to either publically refuse to campaign or endorse him or endorse Kerry.
I saw Lugar today and I really think he agrees with Biden's view of foreign policy and how badly the Bushies have f'd things up.
Some other possibilities include Grassley from Iowa or one of the Maine senators. Chafee wouldn't really be that big a deal, but of course he could do it too.

Biden is always paired with Lugar or Hagel on chat shows as dueling SFRC members. But they never disagree, even in the slightest. I think Hagel's recent "draft" comments are a part of Biden's "level with the American people" mantra.
The best was Lugar/Biden on MTP. Russert asked Biden what he would tell the president, and Biden said, damningly, "Mr. President, *take charge*". Russert asked for Lugar's comment and he "retorted", "Oh, I completely agree". There's your leadership deficit, right there.
I guess memebers of the Foreign Relations Committee think Bush is putting them out of a job.
