The man who stopped Miami recount makes gaming millions

A Dirty Trickster's Bush Bonanza

by Wayne Barrett
April 19th, 2004 9:30 AM

Roger Stone, the dirty-tricks hobgoblin of Republican politics, has exploited his Bush connections to become an influence-peddling force in the $13 billion Indian gaming industry. Stone's booming business in such a federally regulated enterprise makes his recent pro bono orchestration of Al Sharpton's double-edged presidential campaign an even stranger covert caper.

2. The man should be in jail for engineering this dark episode...
which will surely be written in infamy in history books -- not raking in millions. What an unspeakable outrage!

6. FYI
Another of the Bush Recount Stooges, NYS Supreme Court Judge Thomas Spargo, is in big trouble. He's been investigated by the NYS State Judiciary Committee for his own campaign irregularities. He has also brought an action against the Committee seeking injunctive relief, and that action has made it's way to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, which resoundingly decided in favor of ther Committee. Spargo just petitioned for Certiori.

Now this is where it gets good! It appears that Spargo has been soliciting donations to his legal defense fund. Better yet, he has solicited donations from attorneys appearing before him in State Supreme Court actions. Obviously, this calls into question his impartiality, and raises issues of whether Spargo was engaging in conduct that could be construed to be bribery.

Even better, rumors at the Courthouse have it that one of the attorneys from whom Spargo was soliciting donations was wearing a wire . There speculation that Judge Spargo will not only be removed from the bench, but indicted as well.

8. Should be good for 5 years in Prison I hope.
The once good Name of the Republican Party has been sullied and taken over by the NeoCons.

even the subject of this post.

A friend bought a copy of Jeff Toobin's book for my birthday when the book came out and I can't even begin to read it I'm still so upset. It was worse than the Kennedy Assasination, for it was the blatant thuggery masquerading as patriotism that my father and grandfather had always warned me about. My whole European family was lost in the Holocaust, none of my cousins escaped although we had a large family there. Not one. It all started with this kind of electoral fascism, and people were complacent.

9. Toobin's book is excellent
I re-read Toobin's book a few months ago. So many of the events I witnessed first hand it was almost creepy because I could close my eyes and re-live them! A must reading for every Democrat!
