Fortune: A Conservative Case for Voting Democratic |
|
Send this to any Republican you know that is a fiscal conservative (not a psycho "I hate women/minorities/gays conservative"). Fiscal conservatives may be swayed by evidence like this. It's a solidly written argument with good research. http://www.fortune.com/fortune/investing/articles/0,15114,611869,00.htmlA Conservative Case for Voting Democratic Give either party complete control of government, and the vaults are quickly emptied.

10. I agree, and I'm not a liberal |

I have considered that a Kerry Presidency would spend less than Bush, as the article says, because a Republican congress would be more likely to make a point of opposing spending if a Democrat were president.
But I really don't expect it to matter in the election. Alas.

2. Thank you for posting this! |

I will send it to Republicans I know. This is also a good article to show to Independents and undecideds, many of whom are fiscal conservatives.
In fact, I am a life-long liberal Democrat, but I also consider myself to be a fiscal conservative. Note that Bill Clinton's spending was the second-lowest since the Eisenhower administration!
The Chimp's domestic spending is the HIGHEST since Eisenhower, and what do we have to show for it? A whole lot of money spent on Christian-based programs and pork-pork-pork. And that is aside from the obscene military spending that has done nothing to address real security risks (many of which are domestic rather than overseas).
Thank you again! Since this is a recent article, would you be allowed to post it in LBN?
We need to give this lots of readership!

this has been posted to a very busy board I am a regular on that has liberals, moderates, and a few neocons. The neocons had nothing to say about it, but it actually convinced a few independent fence-sitters to vote Kerry!!!!! (They were leaning his way, but that did it.)

The whole article in one file that opens with IE. makes one file you can attach to emails to your republican friends who are true fiscal conservatives.

www.antiwar.com ???
I refer conservative friends to this site, after reassuring them that it's NOT a left-wing site but a libertarian one.

13. The mormon Prophet is a democrat |
|
I live in a religious right community, however, as the religious right becomes more neocon and the reality of war is difficult to ignore, they (the Mormons) also have a philosophy thatis deeply rooted in socialism. So they are a paradox. Like you say fiscally conservative because they are already supporting their own church welfare, but socially, they are more like democrats. They also don't ike killing innocent men women and children. So, as the facts arise, they are more like Kucitizens. Mainstream media makes this difficult to see this, but I was encouraged to hear from my neighbor that the Prophet, Gordon B. Hinkley is a democrat. The religious right, like Mormons have been used by the Bush administration and it won't be too long before they betray him, I think based on what I see and hear. They may not openly embrace Kerry or other candidates, but you sure don't see a lot of Bush support like you would think. Bush support is largely a Fa-loon. Followers are extremists which by definition makes them a minority. I hope I don't offend any Mormons by speaking for them, but I like to look at cultural groups and voting tendencies. Mormons are awesome socialists except for their blatent discrimination against gays and lesbians. Some are seeing the light and realizing that the plight of the gay is the same as the plight of the black person in their church. And hey, Gladis Night is a mormon. Peace and democracy.
