Is There Any Hope of Getting Iraq/Terror Off Front Page Before Nov.?
We really aren't seeing inaccuracies and fraud in a batch of recent polls---we are seeing what happens when all focus is off economy/jobs/healthcare, etc. and placed exclusively on war and terror. It really doesn't matter what the content of these war/terror/9-11 stories are (whether pro or con Bush). It's the subject matter. The media is delivering just what Rove wanted. About the only thing that might knock it all off the front page is if there is a sudden, massive drop in employment; and I have a feeling that isn't going to happen. June 30th and 9/11 report will keep the fires burning. Is it possible that at least by October the public will go back to it's Iraq sleepwalk and other issues will take over?? Is there any way the Dems can change the headlines?? Or, is there any possibility that somehow, finally the people will let more than the Iraq sights into their minds and actually hear the 'message' and get out of their Pavlov's dog response of supporting Bush every time they see GI's on their tv screen???

1. Iraq has only just started to be a "problem"
As time goes on, it will become a clusterfuck of massive proportions.

This is Vietnam on steriods.

3. But, Jacobin, the more it is, the more we have images of GI Joe on
tv and in papers and the more we have the knee jerk reaction of our dear president trying so hard to bring democracy to these people and how we must stay the course, and cheer for the hometeam, and, well, you know the drill......We have to get this off of page one or Kerry will fade into the mist. Will it happen?? Will it now constantly occupy the first 15 minutes of every news cast???

Seeing GI;s and Iraqis in turmoil on TV does nothing to make me "support" Bush. It's what's keeping it fresh so I keep walking the neighborhood and calling Washington. And the polls are heading south on Iraq. RELAX!

10. Isn't it interesting that a lot of the talking heads have been pointing
out just this very thing the last few weeks. They started saying it was effecting both campaigns. But lately, they seem to be quite pleased that the subject matter has stayed right where it is. GI's fighting have a way of making people "support" our troops instead of pissing on the liar who got us there. You didn't see a thousand percent drop in Bush's numbers on ANY poll did you because of this war or the 9/11 hearings. But, I forgot, ALL polls are bullshit unless they say Kerry is ahead. Can you explain why there hasn't been a big drop for him in light of all this so-called bad publicity??? He may not be gaiing great ground with his anti-Kerry ads but he's not losing it either...is he???

11. "The media is delivering just what Rove wanted" ??????
The media doesn't kowtow to Rove.

When a hundred troops die in less than a three week period, that will take front cover.

When the troops have three cities under siege that will take cover.

When the coalition is falling apart with counties pulling out that will take front cover.

When the folks at home aren't being dealt with by the military honestly that will take front cover.

When the pentagon starts asking for more money from congress to support the war that will take front cover.

The White House is in a panic to make everything look smooth, even those phoney poll numbers, which any intelligent person can see through isn't enough to make the repukes content.

Let's get the troops home should be your mantra not to hide the facts of life about a war that wasn't needed.

12. Those phoney poll number was to scare Kerry to start spending
big bucks. Yor're getting excited about nothing in my opinion. And indeed the real news isn't on the three whore networks. That's only entertainment for the mindless. I'm talking about CNN MSNBC and FAUX
