Could bush*s 'the world owes sharon a big thanks' be his way of starting
a BIG bunch of shit so that he can have his terrorist attack and call off the election? Am I being paranoid, or does this make sense to anyone else but me? Am I so jaded and crazy that I think that this is just part of a plan to make things SOOOOO damn ugly that the November 4th election just will not happen? Martial law, etc.

2. Well Hamas are threatening us now

I think however that it might have the effect on us that it did on the Spanish to get attacked on Al Qaeda. "Hey guys it ain't really our fight." I am probably overly optimistic on this since Kerry is not actually taking an alternative position unlike Zapatero.

7. Here's something from Lexis-Nexis

March 24, 2004, Wednesday, BC cycle

SECTION: International News

LENGTH: 234 words

HEADLINE: Hamas chief backs off threats against United States

DATELINE: GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip

BODY:
Hamas has no plans to attack American targets, the group's new leader in Gaza said Wednesday, backing off earlier threats against Washington following Israel's assassination of its founder.

Abdel Aziz Rantisi told reporters in Gaza that his group's militant activities are aimed solely at Israel.

"We are inside Palestinian land and acting only inside Palestinian land. We are resisting the occupation, nothing else," Rantisi said. "Our resistance will continue just inside our border here inside our country."

Other material came forth testing the veracity of the statement.

As al-Rantisi was killed however, you may be right about the threat of HAMAS.

Bush is pulling a Netanyahu-Sharon move-- asking for an attack against the US interests. He knows the radicals of HAMAS, Islamic Jihad will provide him just the fodder he needs. Unfortunately--we are the fodder for his sick plan.

4. maybe I'm wrong, but.....
I fear an attack around the election would have the opposite effect here in the US, the whole "rally 'round" thing.....

6. Could be

but America does know more about the Israeli Palestinian crisis then they do Al Qaeda and islamism, or Saudi ARabia for that matter. Furthermore it would be impossible to ignore it at this point. The Israeli lobby couldn't tell nonjews to shut up because it isn't their business, so it might really go against Bush, and Israel. Furthermore it would be proof George Bush's war on terror isn't working. So I think it might just be a very bad thing, for Bush.

9. I beg to differ here.
The US knows a lot about the I-P conflict, al-Qa'ida and other groups.

Knowledge isn't the issue on the part of the regime-- it's what they do with that knowledge to ensure their rule.

Now--with the US public--that's a different matter-- the average US citizen knows jack shit about the I-P conflict, al-Qa'ida, Islam, Europe, anything outside of the confines of their town, county, state.

10. I didn't say the knew alot
I said they know more about it than SA, and the story has been traditionally better covered. Did you know we had bases in SA. I didn't. Though the coverage went down after the intifada started because every body got pc about it. You can't tell American activist to bud out of I/P when it is the source of attacks.
