BBV: Diebold admits "We were caught"
"We were caught. We apologize for that," Urosevich said of the mass failures of devices needed to call up digital ballots. Poll-workers in Alameda and San Diego counties hadn't been trained on ways around their failure, and San Diego County chose not to supply polls with backup paper ballots, crippling the largest rollout of e-voting in the nation on March 2. Unknown thousands of voters were turned away at the polls.

<snip>

Seattle journalist and BlackBoxVoting.org leader Bev Harris took a microphone two feet in front of Urosevich and said, "What we have is a company that lies. Yes, I'll say it -- lies."

"You have got to vote them off the island," said Jim March, a Sacramento lobbyist for the right to bear arms and see a paper ballot. March waved an especially harsh state report on Diebold's poor compliance with California election law.

"After this report, doubts will always remain not only about their credibility but their sanity," he said.

6. Generally, No
Usually no laws on the books for what to do with an election if overturned AFTER it has been certified, even with faulty equipment.

Make sure that recounts are demanded immediately if there is even a hint of something curious. Those recounts must happen independently of the machines that counted the vote initially- usually, a hand recount.

Then, DON'T buy all the PR and news hype about this party or that losing their way, etc. In 2002, the Dems let the media lead them into self-reflection, rather than action on the outcomes. Reflection is not a bad thing but there were enough anomolies in 2002 to raise flags all over. Just another case of, "Look here and not there."

12. Call them, write them, fax them, and e-mail them.....
....Then ask everyone you know to do the same! :hi:

We need to get S.1980 and HR2239 through Congress, and implemented!! Call your reps and senators- go to www.verifiedvoting.org, select your state, and call toll-free or email.

Be sure to call, write and fax your LOCAL elections officials as well because they're the ones who make the decisions concerning what election technology you will be using in November!

8. If Bush Loses the Election Will Repubs Claim Flawed Voting Machines??
Will there be a decision by the Supreme Court claiming Bush really won, even though votes this time, CLEARLY are in favor of Kerry?

Will this be the Republican strategy?
Bush wins by default when they claim machines failed?
