Smirk says his father was the wrong father to ask for war advice

http://www.thenation.com/outrage/index.mhtml?pid=1389

-snip-

So I was startled to hear that George W. Bush never sought his father's advice before deciding to invade Iraq -- and, what's more, he then went and basically bragged about it, speaking to a journalist about his own father with something bordering on contempt.

-snip-

"Then he said something that really struck me. He said of his father, 'He is the wrong father to appeal to for advice. The wrong father to go to, to appeal to in terms of strength.' And then he said, 'There's a higher Father that I appeal to.'"

-snip-

Instead, the President refuses to even seek his own father's advice (which, if heeded, might have saved us a helluva lot of trouble); gets us bogged down in a miniature Vietnam that makes no sense whatsoever; tells a press conference he can't think of a single mistake he's made since 9/11; and then, no doubt feeling defensive about things, he lashes out at ... his father.

-snip-

How old is this President again? Eleven years old? Twelve? Remind me again how our Republic ended up in the hands of this petulant child?

yep, there is domestic abuse in the white house (remember smirk's battered face?)

1. Well, you might enjoy this then in the key of C...
Sing to the Beverly Hillbillies Theme:

Come and listen to my story 'bout a boy named Bush.
His IQ was zero and his head was up his tush.
He drank like a fish while he drove all about.
But that didn't matter 'cuz his daddy bailed him out.
DUI, that is.
Criminal record.
Cover-up.

Well, the first thing you know, little Georgie goes to Yale.
He can't spell his name but they never let him fail.
He spends all his time hangin' out with student folk.
And that's when he learns how to snort a line of coke.
Blow, that is.
White gold.
Nose candy.

The next thing you know, there's a war in Vietnam.
Kin folks say, "George, stay at home with Mom."
Let the common people get all maimed and scarred.
We'll buy you a spot in the Texas Air Guard.
Cushy, that is.
Country clubs.
Nose candy.

Twenty years later, George gets a little bored.
He trades in the booze, says that Jesus is his Lord.
He said, "Now the White House is the place I wanna be."
So he called his daddy's friends and they called the GOP.
Gun owners, that is.
Falwell.
Jesse Helms.

Come November 7, the election ran late.
Kin folks said "Jeb, give the boy your state!"
"Don't let those colored folks get into the polls."
So they put up barricades so they couldn't punch their holes.
Chads, that is.
Duval County.
Miami-Dade.

Before the votes were counted, five Supremes stepped in.
Told all the voters "Hey, we want George to win."
"Stop counting votes!" was their solemn invocation.
And that's how George finally got his coronation.
Rigged, that is.
Illegitimate.
No moral authority.
Y'all come vote now.
Ya hear?

6. There will be many false prophets
'He is the wrong father to appeal to for advice. The wrong father to go to, to appeal to in terms of strength.' And then he said, 'There's a higher Father that I appeal to.'"

8. Great lyrics! I'm not sure I believe Shrub's story though.
Lot of people have been talking aobut how dumb Shrub is and that he must have always been on the phone with Daddy to find out what to do.

I think he said this "not the right Father" story to Woodward for 2 reasons:

1. Dispell the rumors that he always relies on his fathers opinions and can't decide for himself.

2. Strengthen his RW base by telling them he is "doing God's work".

This Admin. doesn't do ANYTHING without a political motive!
