BBV: Calif. VSP Finds Against Diebold
This just in from GregD who is sitting in the VSP Conference in Sacramento. The committee has found against Diebold in a unanimous decision. The TSx system used in San Diego and Alameda Counties has been decertified and cannot be used.

The reasons for this decision are three-fold. First, Diebold did not have Federal Certification for that system. Second, Diebold did not meet the terms of the conditional certification that they were given. And, third, their flagrant disregard for rules and the law caused disenfranchisement of hundreds, if not thousands, of voters.

All evidence gathered during this hearing are being given to the State Attorney General for investigation of either civil or criminal prosecution.

6. WOW! Will this decision transfer to results in other states?
There have been complaints about BBV everywhere. Since this is something decided at the state level, will this same "de-certification" happen in many other states?

18. Once there is a link you can
email it to your local paper and TV news and say you would like to hear more about the local implications or something. That is one quick way.

17. the results of that election are preposterous
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 02:10 PM by tinanator
allegations were made in these parts recently that 8% of the gube vote went uncounted and 4% of the recall as well. This possibility, combined with the ludicrous spread of votes among 130 candidates AND the disproportionate results from rural counties smells like a fish rendering plant that was shut down days ago.

yeah, a solid dem state lost its mind over a Nazi's steroid using child. No sense holding any breath for the media to cover it, since they ran the most ridiculous election campaign ever seen for him.

and I think these results PROVE it!

two years later, the Green vote drops like a rock and what? goes to Nazi boy? NOT FUCKIN HARDLY!

California election officials on Thursday recommended banning some Diebold Election Systems voting machines in the state and referred an investigation into the company to the attorney general for possible civil and criminal sanctions.

22. 54 electoral votes firmly in Kerry's column!
God, what a relief! I was all set to get an absentee ballot, fearing that Diebold would take the rest of the votes.

YES!!!

One down, 49 to go!

26. Now to work on Texas' electoral votes
I think San Antonio got the Diebold treatment during the primaries...

And let's not forget some of the "inconsistencies" during the Perry/Sanchez race back in 2002!

(Looks like I need to start printing these...!!)

25. YAY!!!!
I live in San Diego, and the Registrar of Voters here just *LOVES* her brand new golly-gee-bought-with-no-competing-bid Dibold machines. And has been utterly unresponsive about concerns or problems with them, both before and after the March 2nd election.

Wonder what she's going to do now - other than waste our money trying to fight this in court.

The elections officer thinks Diebold machines are the best thing since sliced bread.

I can't wait to rub her face in this.
