I am watching CNN and Ludicris is at Fort Hood being interviewed about his performance that he will be giving to returning soldiers. A lot of our boys said they were listening to his music back in Iraq. . .O'Reilly must be PISSED. . .and I am laughing my ass off.

The soldiers and their families will be treated Thursday to a daylong party at the Army post. Entertainers including Drew Carey, Jessica Simpson, Ludacris, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are scheduled to perform at the homecoming gala, complete with tens of thousands of barbecue sandwiches to munch on.

'course since he's in total denial about himself, he just might claim credit in one spin or another, saying that BECAUSE OF HIM pointing out Ludacris' impact, Ludacris decided to channel in a positive way or some crap. But has chickenhawk O'REILLY ever greeted returning troops? Has chickenhawk O'REILLY ever gone to any of the funerals? Why does the VFW give O'REILLY awards? Just asking.

being handed a certificate, smiles and handshakes all around. Something for being "a good American" or "an OUTSTANDING AMERICAN" or "being the FLOWER of Americanism" or "the epitome of EVOLUTIONARY American, uh, 'Creationist'".

You know the tune: Among our broad-brush comrades, it's the external trappings of "patriotism" that counts, not the inner meaning. So, the VFW, many of whose members revile a fellow vet like KERRY, bend right over to kiss chickenhawk ass. I wouldn't doubt that they have similarly "honored" HANNITY. For sure, Shrub, despite that what the VFW members fought for was supposedly democracy and for "brothers". They prefer an AWOL "brother" than a real one. They would LOVE to kiss LIMBOsevic's pinodial cyst if they haven't already, on the grounds that he SOUNDS kick-ass "for 'Murica".

And I understand. You know, if we want somebody to go put their lives on the primordial line, they can't be Hamlet stewing, they need to be more, uh, physical.

Mr. Oreilly... Thank you for using your "bully" pulpit on behalf of veterans... Please find out which of our Congressmen...who say they support veterans and military issues.... blocked the funding of Concurrent Receipt for Disabled Military Retirees... they are all hiding behind closed doors... they passed it, but wouldn't fund it. Who? Why?

Congratulations on your award from the VFW. I have devoted an average of 4 hours a day to veteran issues for about 5 years on the web... putting out news and issues, answering questions, etc I get around 200 emails a day... but I an just one guy... no organization or pay, I do it for the occasional email I get from a veteran or widow expressing a heart felt thanks for some help or info I provided.
Please send me a picture of your award... I would like to see what one looks like.. I have never received any recognition, from any veteran's organization... Legion, AMVETS, DAV, VFW, MOPH, ROA, TROA, NGAUS, TREA, NAUS, VA ...on..and on... too numerous to list them all.

Well, it's been a very busy day. The University of California at Los Angeles has been trying to prevent us from doing a story on the protest there against First Lady Laura Bush. How foolish of them. We'll have that report coming up.

And this morning I received a journalism award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Washington. And I got to thinking about vets and human rights. And that's the subject of this evening's "Talking Points" memo. ....
