Report that Nader has raises $600,000 already. More than 2000. |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 03:18 PM by napi21
IS there a way to find out how many of these dontributors are Repubs?
The report did say most of it was via the net.
I suspect most were Pubs because they want him on the ballott so badly.

6. Actually that is not very much - he needs a lot more if he is going to |
|
get on ballots in most states. In 2000 he was on the ballot as the Green Party candidate. This year he will need to get enough registered voter sigs to wualify for the ballot in many states - and the time is short so he will probably need to use paid signature collectors rather than volunteers if he is to get enough signatures. You always need a lot of extra signatures to make up for the bogus ones. I personally am doubtful that he will be on the ballot in very many states - and that may be by design on his part - gives him one more thing to bitch about and he can't be blamed for hurting Kerry's chances if he is not on the ballot in the battleground states.

8. Am I being too paranoid? |
|
Could it be that those Pug donors to Nader really don't like Bush and are funding Nader because the can't possibly vote for a Dem?
I don't think so, but I guess it's possible.

Did it ever occur to you that this person is syphoning money to both parties in order to stay in the loop no matter who wins? Or possibly they funded Kerry back before the primaries because they thought he was the easiest opponent for Bush? Or maybe, being in Pittsburgh and all, this has something to do with the Heinz Corporation? There is no way in hell they would ever view Nader as a bigger threat to them than Kerry and would NEVER want to give Kerry votes.

...is that many Repugs are content that Bush has enough money right now, in fact, one guy I had looked up gave $2000 to Bush in '00, and gave $250 to Nader this year. One name I looked up, gave heavily to Bush in '00, but (so far) this year, he's only donated to the Nader campaign.

Seriously though, I'm just frustrated with Kerry right now. At least Nader has some balls and says what he really believes-- hence my sad attempt at humor to have him on the ticket. Kerry is just so frickin' blah. White toast. Someone needs to breathe some life into this campaign.

22. It's easy for Nader to say anything |
|
He's not actually working for a majority of votes! He'll never have to put any of his one-paragraph "proposals" in place! He can say anything he wants to, as unpopular to the mainstream as it may be and as appealing to the left as it may be -- and it has *nothing* to do with "balls."

28. Is this all we can ever hope for? |
|
That for true progressives to get elected they have to pretend to be diet Republicans?
I'm not trying to argue here. I mean it as a serious question. How do we ever turn the corner. How can we ever get someone like a Dean or a Kucinich elected if we keep repeating the pattern of nominating Democrats who act like Republicans most of the time?

I met with Nader yesterday. I will always respect him and the people he surrounds himself with. He has one message and he has always been the consummate consumer advocate. End the control of the corporations. Plain and simple. I do not understand why he is trying to run this time, except it is much like Kucinich. And I will support Dennis to my death.

Repubes have no intention of voting for poor old Ralphie, they just want the guy to be able to afford commercial that trash Kerry..
They play dirty :)..we need to take lessons :)

It has gotten easier to donate via the internet than it was in 2000. And more people trust it. Does not necessarily indicate an increased base of support.

Whatever the Rethugs are donating to his campaign, offer him an equal amount in Fidelity Mutual Fund shares in his personal account and an agreement from labor unions that they'll never try to unionize in his organization ever again. Ralph would drop out in ten seconds.
