Al Franken is great on his show |
|
The O'Franken Factor has the best guests of all the shows and he asks the right questions to elicit responses showing how extreme the Republicans are.

liberal nerd faction going with the mix of information and satire.
I think there's a good mix of personalities on AAR. It's doesn't all sound the same, and that's important I think.

Randi Rhodes is THE ONE. Her rapid-fire, four-hour napalm attacks on the wingnuts are being heard during drive-time hours in the east and midwest. She's going to come out at the top of the AA ratings. And even though she tends to be shrill, she doesn't filter out the conservatives that call in. She either demolishes their arguments, or, where possible, tries to convert them. Love Al. Go Randi.

What bothers me is that while Franken is able to attract some great guests, he never lets them speak. I was really looking forward to the Cronkite interview, but it was all Al talking and Cronkite hardly got a word in edgewise.
I like his show, I just wish he'd work on his interviewing technique. It's grating.

but I also go with Randi as being The Queen. I like Al but he's more moderate than I am. While I'm not criticizing that (it's good to have diversity) I like how Randi represents those further to the left.
For example, Franken refuses to entertain any notions that Bush had prior knowledge of 9-11, dismissing them outright while never even discussing the fact that Bush sat in the classroom doing nothing while the towers burned. Randi, on the other hand, talks about this almost every day.
Al also says he initially supported the Iraq war because "he believed Colin Powell" when he presented all of that phony WMD data to the U.N. Although I hold no grudge towards Franken and commend him on everything he's done for the movement, I do wonder how he could be so smart and so gullible at the same time. I, and everyone else I knew, could take one look at Powell and his masters and see that they were lying through their teeth.
Still, Al's show is excellent.

I have listened to her for years and knew she would be the breakout star of Air American even though she did not get the press.
That being said, however, I love the entire AAR lineup and love Al's show. He is definitely laid back but with a great comic sense of humor.
I like the fact that as liberals we can have different viewpoints and not all toe the same line like the right wing wackos out there. I think that is a good thing.
Hopefully, independents, conservatives etc. who might listen in will see that we do have different points of view. That we do listen to different sides and that we do come to different conclusions while still loving and wanting what is best for all Americans. Maybe we will get a few converts to our side. Open some eyes, get some brain cells working and thinking.

11. I love both Al Franken and Randi Rhodes. They are both great! |
|
I very much enjoy listening to them. I also like Ed Shultz too. But Al and Randi are my favorites. They are very knowledgable and talk about all the right things. I'm so thrilled to have them on air. I stream everyday. It comforts me to know that people are out there carrying the torch and fighting the fight. Cheers to all of them.

Something about being dissed by them-- they act like she doesn't exist or some such thing. Kinda weird to hear her talking about this so openly.
