"Rock Against Bush" Record Will Sell 40,000 Copies First Week
As a record biz kind of guy I can tell you that the surprise hit of this week is the "Rock Against Bush" record. Featuring bands such as Pennywise, No FX, Green Day, Good Charlotte, and Authority Zero, it is blowing off the shelves. Based on very strong first day sales, the predicted first week sales figure is 40,000, giving this release a very good chance of hitting the Billboard Top 20. And it isn't even on a major label.

And it is also a tour with all proceeds going to the worthy cause of beating The Moron.

Here's a website for more info:

3. awesome, glad to hear it.
in fact i am going to order it now. I have the up most respect for NOFX and Fat Mike, they have managed to remain true, fun, real and sounding better and more innovative each record. I a no longer listening to much punk music except for the dead kennedy's, NOFX, and Propaghandi. rock on! I am still eager to hear each new NOFX record, rock on guys.

6. Amazon carries it.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001WPSM2/ for those who can't find it locally.

But search your local stores first. Let them know you want them to stock it...and take them to task if they don't!

7. I'm not gonna buy it...
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 07:03 PM by tomorrowsashes
I'm not gonna buy it because Fat Mike took off Propagandhi, the best band on there, for refusing to remove a swipe at George Soros, and because they had the balls to say that they thought that the ballot box was not an effective means for political change. I think the fact that billionaire-asshole Soros supports Kerry is, in itself, a sign that the party is headed in the wrong direction.

The lyrics, and notes that got them taken off:

"Bullshit politicians. Bloated pin-dick motherfuckers. Bullshit politicians bow and curtsey to the seats of power. We’ll never learn and nothing will ever change if we stay this course of followers and slaves. I can't believe we’re still content just reshuffling the same old deck of kings and queens and faux-democracies. I say we hand it back to the bullshit politicians. Free John Hinckley.

This November, be sure to exercise your right to vote for either the war-mongering, planet-raping, corporate-billionaire functionaries or the other war-mongering, planet-raping, corporate-billionaire functionaries!

Wake up for fuck sakes. The planet doesn’t need another U.S. election. It needs an American Revolution.

This message not brought to you by George Soros"

8. Good for Fat Mike
It's his label. They want to bash a guy who's spent BILLIONS on democracy, including in this country, do it on your own time.

9. He had the right to take it off but...
He had the right to take it off, but I have every right to respond to that by not buying the album. George Soros is an asshole. He made his fortune by exploiting the currency exchange, and, in effect, the poorest people of developing countries. No amount of philanthropy could make up for the damage he did.
